From Travel By Foot ----------- ExCeL London has 60 cycle racks in total. 6 cycle racks are located at the West entrance taxi drop off point just underneath the DLR walkway. 54 cycle racks are located next to the East Entrance underneath the stairway connecting Level 0 to Level 1. There is no charge to use the cycle racks. ----------- No mention of weather or not the racks are in any protected from light fingered lowlife. Bring the biggest lock you've got - and the all others...

+1. If I wangle the day out, it'll be a train to St Panc and then either a Boris bike or my own folding bike to the venue (not too bad if you get the bike maps from TfL). If it's forecast to be pi$$ing down, a tube or bus.

OSCommerce was fairly mature and well supported a few years ago when I used it. Paypal & CCard stuff worked too.

If you're buying a Nexus 7 from Google, be aware that they use TNT's cheapest possible delivery service. This means that you can't redirect the delivery, so if you specified your home address (which might be obligatory if your card is registered there), you either have to be at home all day (weekdays only, no saturday delivery) or collect from their depot. I collected, it cost an hour of my time and was a pain in the a$$.

An esxi host is a linux machine so crontab (the linux scheduler) might work. Try getting it to call the halt command. Get in via the console or enable ssh access.

Cheap cable discs (on £60 tesco / reebok / dunlop / various other brand bikes) are awful - in keeping with the rest of the machine. Better cable discs can be very good and avoid the mucking about with hydraulic fluid that the other sort need.

City jets - bit slippy over wet leaves / mud but they're cheap, last well and hardly ever get punctures (touch wood).

Saracen - Throw the forks away (pointless extra weight) and add some mudguards and you're getting there! The revolution courier looks like a better commuter though - single ring at the front (less weight, no real penalty), slightly thinner wheels (faster), no silly fork. Same sort of money too which means they should have spent the money saved on forks & chainrings elsewhere on it.

Surely, if processors are coming out as BGA only, that just opens up the market for somebody to start making bga-lga and lga-bga adaptors? Great news for manufacturers of hot air soldering kit too. Bit of a PITA overall though.

What pages do you lot use to check if your filters are working? Eg - you've found a proxy site and want to know if it gets around the schools filtering, you're not going to try playb0y.com in school. Are there any sites which are on block lists (and are there to test filtering) but are innocuous and are there for people to test their filtering? Ta, Ma

Why do you need to go through a switch? If the signal's good enough and the runs not too long, can't you just connect patch panel to patch panel?

We're waiting on EMBC too. Their sluggishness is matched only by the shoe-dragging that's going on at RM at the moment.

OsCommerce was good about 6 years ago. If it's still actively maintained I'd suggest old = well proven / debugged / good.

What a steaming pile of carp this package is! I especially liked it when I tried using the CC3 installation mode on a client machine - maybe it would make something useful. Instead, it complains that it's not a cc3 server and then sits there with all the buttons greyed out. Slick, real slick! Looking forward to more fun with this one. Jupgrade didn't work for me either.

Old laptop, webcam (£20), tilaphos software (free, slightly strange interface, seems to be working ok). Watching new classrooms being build as we speak. Only downside of the webcam approach is the poor picture quality. If you can go the canon / chdk route, do so - you'll get the high speed clouds effect, amongst other goodies.

I'm doing something similar with a £20 webcam taped to the inside of an window overlooking the build site. Old laptop + tilapos => done.
