  1. So for the above the breakdown is - 3 x 4 Core (6 Licenses) 1 x 16 Core (8 License) 1 x Single Core (VM - 2 License) Total - 16 Correct? SQL Seems wasted on the Single Core VM.
  2. Hi all, The licensing for SQL has got me slightly confused. Could anyone help me figure out how many licenses i need in order to cover the following servers - 3 x 4 Core 1 x 16 Core 1 - Single Core (VM) Thanks in advance
  3. Hi all, We have an old O365 tenant with our domain registered to it. It was all setup for SSO and ADFS. The project was pretty much abandoned and as things have moved on the ADFS server we were using has since been removed. I'm trying to gain access to it again but whoever was leading the project didn't disable SSO before giving up on it. So i can't access it. I can't connect to it via PowerShell on any of the accounts I have and i'm stumped. Trying to find a contact address for support from Microsoft has been just as time consuming! Could anyone point me in the right direction?! Thanks
  4. Pretty cool pad. Wonder what the internet connection is like up there!
  5. We are running v4.2.14 if it helps
  6. Also using Impero here and find it very useful as do a number of staff. @Arreks - not sure what you mean? Top right.
  7. On the supervise tab All Devices > Right Click Device > Unsupervise I've yet to click it as i don't want to unsupervise my devices.
  8. Has anyone figured out a way to make sure the Impero app is always running in the background?
  9. Users can set passwords on the device and you can't stop it (on the Kindle E-Ink anyway)
  10. Our 3 year agreement ends June 2015. I had every intention of coming away from Service Birmingham anyway as our Academy sponsor has their own EES agreement in place. I think again that is a 'shared' VLSC situation though.
  11. I'm 99% certain that no single licenses have been purchased. This would explain the difficulty i've had getting a new 2012 R2 DC to activate using the keys on our VLSC. The trouble with this is the agreement was done with Service Birmingham and according to them all schools in the agreement see everything, even things they aren't licensed to use.
  12. Sorry to hi-jack this but got me slightly concerned now. We have the following agreement - Should we be licensing our servers separate? We have a 2012 DC acting as a KMS that has activated anything on the network running 2012 / Win 7 and below. I inherited the current licensing and have just always assumed it was 'right' as it worked.
  13. The general opinion then seems to be that storing them - encrypted or not - isn't the best idea. With that in mind, to those who ask teachers to reset passwords for those who forget, how do you go about doing this?
  14. The passwords aren't stored clear text in the DB. You only get the clear text version of the password after you login to the web based side of the application, which only we can do.
  15. Hi all, Do any of you store your pupil passwords on file at all? We've always disabled the pupils ability to change passwords and kept a record of every one we give out. Whenever they are forgotten (this is quite rare thankfully) they come see us and we provide them with it. We use a piece of software that was coded by a member of staff who left some years ago and I need to decommission the server it sits on (it's a hosted Ruby on Rails app that is installed a UI-less Ubuntu setup...). I don't really want to lose the ability to store and look up the passwords as we currently do. I can export the DB no problem but was wondering if anyone had any software they themselves use in order to display the information and keep it up to date, as opposed to bunging it in an Access DB or something. Any advice would be appreciated.
  16. Ours works fine and our minimum password length is below 8.
  17. Our office is on a mag lock with fob access that only ourselves and the cleaner for this floor have access to. Nobody needs to get in when we aren't here. When we are here i don't see the problem with the door being locked as we just let people in with the buzzer!
  18. I was using this recently - DfE, In Your Area
  19. Works fine after removing the above update. Nice one FN-GM.
  20. Will remove that update tonight and see what happens then.
  21. I did some last night and had the error this morning when I got in. I installed quite a few updates - no idea which may have caused this though.
  22. I have the same problem (though i'm on CU5 of Exchange).
  23. It won't fit, the server is too deep. Visual of same size server.
  24. Thanks for responses all. Got it working. I was putting in the column letter instead of the number.
  25. Hi all, Wasn't sure where else to post this so figured I'd just go for here. Can anyone get the postcode distances batch tool to work on this link? DfE, In Your Area Been trying to get something useful out of it for last 30 or so mins and can't get anywhere with it! I know my formatting is off somehow..but not sure how! Obviously, i'm not going to upload my data to here but if someone could get it working and post an example i'd be most grateful. Thanks, Rob.
