  1. Whoops. Just edited my original post as I thought that it was free - which it isn't. Still very good value for money by the looks of it.
  2. Google has announced a 6 course IT support certificate. https://www.coursera.org/specializations/google-it-support It sounds quite interesting actually.
  3. We get our support from Capita. They answer any queries that we may have about the use of the software. Most of the issues that I raise are technical and most of these get resolved within a day. Occasionally these requests can take longer than that. I'm more than happy with the support we get. In terms of cost, they are very competitive and are in fact cheaper than some of our surrounding Learning Authorities.
  4. Unfortunately, not all of the apps can be removed as they are part of the OS. You can get rid of the vast majority though using the Powershell script mentioned above.
  5. Well that job title is going to look great on someone's CV...
  6. Yes I ran the Discover upgrade before running the Solus 3.12 update. We didn't have an issue either. No harm in upgrading Solus 3 first though I suppose just in case.
  7. Which profiles do you still need to reset? Are you using UE-V with local profiles? Are these the profiles you are resetting?
  8. Awesome. Those suggestions worked. Thanks everyone.
  9. I'm struggling with this UE-V deployment and I was wondering if someone could point out something obvious that I'm missing here. It doesn't seem save any settings. This is my current setup: Win 10 1709 deployment (testing on two workstations). Computer GPO with the following policies enabled: Comp\Adm Temp\Windows Components\Microsoft User Experience Virtualization\Enable UEV - Enabled Comp\Adm Temp\Windows Components\Microsoft User Experience Virtualization\Use User Experience Virtualization - Enabled Comp\Adm Temp\Windows Components\Microsoft User Experience Virtualization\Configure Sync Method - Enabled and set to Sync Provider Comp\Adm Temp\Network /Offline Files\Allow or Disallow use of the Offline Files feature - Enabled User GPO configured as follows: User\Adm Temp\Windows Components\Microsoft User Experience Virtualization\Use User Experience Virtualization - Enabled User\Adm Temp\Windows Components\Microsoft User Experience Virtualization\Configure Sync Method - Enabled and set to Sync Provider The user GPO is applied to a security group that my test user is a member of. I can see that the UE-V Agent is running when the user is logged in. No "SettingsPackages" folder is created in the users homedrive. I've tried specifying a Settings Storage location on a share with the permissions set out as described in the following MS technet article but again no SettingsPackages folders are created and nothing syncs: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/configuration/ue-v/uev-deploy-required-features I must be missing something here but I can't for the life of me figure out what it is. Can anyone point me in the right direction with this please? Your help and advice is much appreciated!
  10. Haven't seen or heard of this. Sounds like a chipset driver issue. Have you got the latest drivers?
  11. @Arthur @robyholmes As ever, thanks again guys!
  12. Am I correct in thinking that UE-V is part of MDOP? I've logged into our Licencing portal and the latest version of MDOP there is the 2015 version. I take it that this isn't the current version of the software. Is that correct? I've asked our licencing re-seller to try and get it added into our portal. Our OVS agreement hasn't changed since then as far as I'm aware.
  13. Thank you for that @Spenketh. Anyone else?
  14. A question for all of you with UE-V setup. Did you setup a central Settings Storage Location on a server share or did you leave it so the location defaults to the user's homedrive? Just wondering if either of these options have their own little issues in the real world. I was tempted to leave them in the users homedrive however I'd imagine that if a user's disk quota is full, this would cause an issue? Also, how large does the UE-V settings location get for each user in the real world? Microsoft's advice is to allow 20MB of space for each user? Does that sound accurate? Thanks in advance!
  15. I haven't considered UE-V to be honest. Will login times not be longer with UE-V as they will have to wait for the local profile to be created? Is this just a one-off profile creation per computer? This may sound like a stupid question however I have no experience with that technology.
  16. Gotcha. Weirdly, I hadn't thought to create the directory before login. We usually just let them auto-create. I'll give that a whirl. Thanks for that.
  17. I'm testing our Win 10 rollout and I've noticed that administrators don't have any permissions to the V6 profile folders. I have to take ownership and then add the permissions in. Why does it do that and is there a way of resolving this? My Win7 V2 profiles have the correct permissions i.e. the user is the owner but the administrator is added into the ACL with full control. The V6 profiles seem to work ok for the user however I'm concerned that I won't easily be able to delete/rename profiles in the future. Has anyone else came across this issue?
  18. I use roaming profiles and was having the same issue. Turning off that policy also worked for me so thank you for posting that. You've saved me a lot of time there! Allowing extensions doesn't seem to be an issue for us as we have uninstalled the MS store app.
  19. @bigjb The classnotebooks that I was using to test this have started to work again. They weren't working 1 hour ago. @bigjb would you be able to check yours please?
  20. Your absolutely correct. Not ideal at all. Our staff don't want to use the thick client as a workaround so all I can offer them is the collaboration space workaround.I told them that it's probably best to unlock the CS section for a few minutes at the beginning of the lesson to allow them to copy the work over and the lock it again. I've seen your latest update to this thread and it's good that they've acknowledged the bug. Hopefully it won't take too long to implement.
  21. MS have just got back to me to suggest unlocking the Collaboration Space to allow the copying and pasting of pages etc. This does work however it's only a workaround as it's the Content Library that is broken. I'm waiting for another response from MS about this.
  22. @bigjb Did MS get any where with your call? MS are still looking into this for us. We are still experiencing the issue BTW.
  23. @bigjb Have you logged a call with Microsoft about this? I haven't yet.
  24. Well at least it's not just us then. I thought that it may be an issue with permissions as the copy and pasting from within student notebook sections are fine. I've tried running the NoteBooks through the online permission fix tool but it's still the same. https://www.onenote.com/classnotebook/notebook-fix
  25. Is anyone experiencing any problems with OneNote online this morning? Our students are unable to copy and paste from the Content Library to their Student Notebooks. It looks like a GUI issue. You hover over the page you want to copy, right click and the Copy option stays grey. If you however over the Copy icon rather than the Copy text it flashes grey. At first I was thinking it may be a browser issue however I've asked them to use Google Chrome instead of IE and the problem persists. That is making me think that it may be an issue at Microsoft's end? Any of you guys and gals having the same problem.
