Both brand are brand new, in a perfect signal area and have been like this out of the box. They have a very basic config profile on to setup the WiFi but that’s about it.

We' have a couple of ipads, mini and 'regular' both on ios 11 (although the problem existed on 10) that don't reconnect to the wireless when it goes off for any reason. If the wireless AP's are restarted for any reason, these two lose their connection but fail to reconnect when the wifi is back online. The fix is to manually toggle the wifi off and back on (in the best IT Crowd style!) Its a pain as these two are used in Single app mode for a sign in system, and both are set to automatically connect so has anyone got any ideas why they might not?

We always got a discounted delivery rate, and found them very competitive for PCs - generally speaking if they were second cheapest they would find a way to get their price down! Our account manager was the same for years and always easy to deal with. A shame to see a company go down, and good luck to all those involved in finding new jobs.

We're about 50% W10 Edu, the rest still on Windows 7. Guess which half generates the most support calls....

A great shame, we have used them for years as we've had good service from our account manager and generally very competitive. Ideal for a single printer, parts and general items. Now I'll have to look elsewhere!

Thanks for all the ideas, we found we had to open the port 2053 on our smoothwall proxy as well. Nasty bitty little program this is!

It seems it goes through the proxy for some bits, yet bypasses it for others (on port 2053!)

We've made the mistake of moving to Sage's new 'cloud' based 200C, cloud based in the sense it uses a click once application on the client and various other executables dumped in the users local profile! I think Sage need to read the definition of cloud based! Anyway - we're struggling to get it working as it seems to try and connect through to their servers on port 2053, which we're trying to get working through our smoothwall. Has anyone done this and got any pointers that would save us some time?

I wrote a couple of vb apps that write the computer name into a text file for each user on login. It then checks how many logins the user has and logs them out if its exceeded their limit. I used vb6 but could probably be done with powershell? The other half of the app lists who is logged in and where on a console which we use a lot!

I haven't been as specific as that - the file runs from :C\users\user\appdata\local and I've put an allow rule in for the program.exe without any path at all. When a staff member runs it the log shows it was blocked by applocker, but an admin shows an allow rule. We don't have a deny rule that relates to that folder to override it either! Bizarre

Yeah - we have quite simple rules in place and there's nothing that denies that path. Move of our rules were ported over from SRP (duplicated as it requires groups based rules). It has been a bit hit and miss since we started with W10 but I'm started to feel like SRP is the better option.

Anyone else finding applocker a bit unreliable in applying rules in W10? I'm used to SRP being rock solid in W7 but I can't put any faith in applocker Example - new crappy ('educational') software runs an exe from the users temp folder - so I whitelist the .exe in Applocker for Staff and administrators. Works for admins, blocked for staff. Even logs an event saying its blocked for staff and allowed for an admin despite the rules allowing it for both groups! I'm going to just strip out applocker and stick with SRP in W10 until I can rely on it

Managed to work around it with a registry hack - if you specify the path to the SD card in the registry it works fine, you just can't put that path in via the gui!

Its in the Settings\Capture Folder - you can only set this to the local drive or a portable HDD, USB or SD card won't work! We used to record to an SD card for speed, but since W10 it won't accept that. it defaults to your home Documents folder on the C: drive.

Not sure how W10 has broken this but we have a weird problem now - when trying to set the default save Location to a USB or SD Card, Cyberlink Youcam 7 comes up with an error saying 'The current permission settings on your computer do not allow you to select the location' The location in question has full r/w access, and this affects all users and admins. I've tried on several devices but always get the same error. These devices (surfaces) all ran the same software on Windows 8 originally and happily wrote to the USB or SD cards! We don't have any policies in place that would cause this, and it also happens on devices that have no policies applied. We paid for the full version but cyberlink aren't much help!

Hmm, how does that work though? My issues was that lost mode effectively switches off the wifi and therefore it can't see that Lost most has been disabled, or are you re-enabling it with the usb adaptor setup?

Finally, after a gazillion attempts (well, probably) I managed to get this into recovery mode and restored it! Thanks for the all input - Lost Mode is definitely only for when you're damn sure its gone!

That's the problem, a decent projector can be had for £300, so I can imagine pushing to £1000 for a TV, but £2.5K upwards really starts to push the budget! We're also concerned that if we start a gradual deployment, of say Smartboard 65" panels, by the time we get around to the latter stages they will have changed again!

Yes, typo! I was on the latest 10 before I let the 11 update on!

Odd then as my device has very few photos on, and is showing a gain of 3GB over the previous 10.12 ios installed!

Possibly, its a personal device so has been kept 'lean and clean' in the past, and has an occasional factory reset but nothing has release as much space as this!

I upgraded a iPad Air 16gb to ios 11 recently - it had around 3GB free before the update and this has crept up to nearly 6gb after the update. Quite pleased with that but not sure how its managed to do this, is iOS11 a more compact OS? Not complaining, it extends the life of this ipad a bit longer - not something you'd normally associate with an Apple update!

This is probably our next choice - how do you find the 65" - is it big enough for a decent sized classroom? Last thing I want is teachers complaining its too small!

I'd like to replace with interactive displays - but with budgets being the way they are we're expected to replace a faulty projector straight away (which is easy enough as they're fairly cheap) but replacing the boards is longer term plan. I would say half of our boards were well used, the other half not so much. Of course the dodgy driver support for them hasn't helped their use much since we went to 7, and in some cases now 10.

Ok,I think I've sorted this - if your Linked Reports stop displaying correctly, then remove Word 2016 update KB4011039 - it worked for me!
