It’s says I can’t use our domain name, yet I can’t reset the admin password as it says the login (using the domain.onmicrosoft.com domain) is invalid, catch 22!

I think another problem I have is that I trialled Office 365 a few years ago, so the domain .onmicrosoft.com is no longer available, and I can't sign in - nor reset the password! Its effectively a dead domain name now. MS never make these things easy!

It looks like I'll have to do this - I haven't got an Office 365 admin login as we've never used it (We're G Suite here) so thats all I can see on the VLSC I'll contact our OVS reseller and see what I need to do - we're staying with G Suite but would like to let students get Office for home user like the staff can.

I'm guessing I'll have to apply for Office 365 and add it to our OVS agreement to enable this - all I can see in the License Summary is 250 of O365 ProPlus for Students - which we've never setup. And 250 is far too few as well.

That doesn't have Access - which is one of the most wanted parts!

I'm getting confused now - with our EES we have Windows/Office etc with HUP for Staff - and we're entitled to the Office 365 free susbscription - but we'd have to pay the higher tier to allow Students the desktop apps?

More confusion from Microsoft then: https://products.office.com/en-gb/academic/compare-office-365-education-plans That says the free one is online only - the A3 allows desktop clients! Or does that change because we have the ees?

I think Office 365 can be had free with ees - but isn't that the online versions of office only?

Under our EES agreement Staff have the right to buy Office for a nominal charge (£9.95) but this only applies to staff. Does anyone know whether this can be extended to students under the EES agreement, or does that add a ridiculous cost or jump up to a new agreement level?

True, and maybe I’m being old fashioned but I don’t even like them having the facility to get into stuff they don’t need to. Edge is a step backwards for network management. Why do students need to get into proxy settings?

A lot of the settings seem to apply, but not when locking down the gui, so you can’t stop them going into the advanced settings like you could on IE policies.

Yeah, I've been looking at the computer settings, but there's not many in there! Still can't configure it to the degree you can with IE or Chrome.

We've been G Suite for about 5 years now - absolutely no issues at all and with the unlimited storage its a bargain! Staff and students all have accounts and the Admin settings let you change things for separate groups. We have 2000 accounts here, and use the GADS to synch with our AD and it works very well. We used to host Exchange/OWA but moved away from this as no matter how cheap you could get it, free is always better.

Just wondering how many out there are using (i.e allowing for staff and students) Edge in their environment? Currently we're providing IE11 and Chrome, and I'm tempted to kill off IE11 and let Edge be a second choice. However it seems seems to be very lacking in group policy settings (nothing to stop users going into the advanced settings/proxy etc) At least Chrome provides fairly comprehensive administrative templates - edge only seems to offer about 30 settings

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the nics many times, and even added an seperate nic (with the on board ones disabled) Best I can get is the connections showing, but there is not active network connection. The Network Connection service is running but can't be stopped or restarted. Nothing really showing in the logs apart from expected messages that theres no network connection available for various services. Its like the network connections component is broken - which means the server is a dead box now!

My 2008 server seems to have self destructed - despite the network connections showing in the device manager as installed and correct drivers loaded, nothing shows in the Network Connections page, and their are no active connections. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the network cards, and even tried a different one altogether but something else must be away, as I can't restart/stop the Network Connections service either! Is there a way to rebuild the network connections from scratch?

Actually I find Macbook Airs quite good value for money, and you can dual boot them - well, I can't get the wifi to work on mine but the principle is there!

Useful tool that, I've never seen that before! Unfortunately it brings up the same drivers I already had from the bootcamp assistant - which is the WirelessLegacy64, WirelessWin7x64 and WirelessWin8x64 I wonder if 10 isn't supported properly in bootcamp yet - although driver does seem to load OK, it simply finds no wireless networks at all!

I've got a 2017 macbook air , with bootcamp of Windows 10 1703 Edu on it - all done using the bootcamp assistant built into macos. Works OK generally and has detected the onboard Broadcomm 802.11ac wireless adaptor. Odd thing is, when in Windows the wireless adaptor appears to be active and working, but sees no wireless networks at all! I've tried later drivers and reinstalling etc, but once the adaptor is active it just looks like no SSIDs are available. The adaptor works fine in macos so I know the hardware is ok. Anyone come across this before?

Yeah, its history on Wikipedia makes interesting reading as well! The odd thing is, even when allowed for staff it hangs any browser we try it on. Maybe that's just as well!

Anyone else using this site? Going though our smoothwall it hangs on any browser (IE,Chrome and firefox) but looking at the history of the site it seems to be rather a dodgy place anyway Of course, its an essential teaching resource to some...

Anyone aware of any limits to teachers adding groups to a google Classroom class? I know a class can't have more than 1000 students but we have an issue where a teacher has been creating classes, and then adding a single group (approx 200 users) to them, so each class tends to only have 1 (or max 2 group) groups invited to it. Now they get an error saying 'Can't invite more class members' when adding a single group to an empty class - this implies there is a limit, but having been on with google support I still haven't found an answer yet.
