  1. The cert for the NPS server is still valid, the AC2 cert expired a while ago (2 years!) but hasn't impacted the wifi settings until this latest AC2 update. I didn't update the AC2 cert as a) it doesn't affect the settings and b) would mean I'd need to re-supervise old ipads done with the old cert. I just cannot understand why it flags up an error, without and actual error, whats the point of that.
  2. I have certs in there - but they're still the same (valid) ones that were in use before. All of my AC profiles are now showing the red error mark on Wifi, without highlighting any error! If I toggle on/off PEAP and TTLS the error appears/disappears. Having tested it, the profile still allows our devices to connect to the wifi! (radius using Windows NPS) Is there no way to find out what AC thinks the error is?
  3. I think we've tried just about every suggestion on here, and on other forums - and W10 still can't be relied on to show printers! The best we've got so far is with targeted GPO deployment on the user, depending on the PC they're logging on. This either a) works b) fails due to it being unable to install the driver (and the correct drivers are on the server) or c) fails with the 'incorrect parameter' error which usually means a logoff and logon are required. So its a pretty hit and miss affair. Most of our users are so used to the crappyness of W10 they accept the fact that printers may or may not appear!
  4. Should have seen this coming, but the recent update to AC2 has broken the wifi settings. Used to work ok, but now when I edit the profiles, the Wifi tab has the red exclamation mark - but the settings haven't changed and everything has been completed - there are also no indicators where it thinks the error is! AC2 is like W10 - every update breaks something and fixes nothing...
  5. It would work for us as the email addresses are usually [email protected] - but its not particularly sensitive information.
  6. I agree, I think its a bit pointless but some people are very odd about this. I'd have to get everyone to confirm what their preferred title is as well - there's a few Dr's and some women prefer Ms to Miss or Mrs - its their choice really. And if we change all the AD accounts, it will please some, and the rest will complain about the layout etc! I wouldn't care, we'd have GMail for 5 years and its only just become an issue!?
  7. Thanks, didn't think it was possible. As we synch with AD it would mean changing everyones AD accounts for the next synch.
  8. In G Suite, does anyone know if theres a way to add a Title/Saluation field to the users? It only seems to offer Firstname and Surname Some of our staff are a bit precious about the students knowing their first name, but there doesn't appear to be a option to show Mr J Smith rather than John Smith I think its a bit daft, but they're you go, its hardly confidential information!
  9. We give a generic Supply account out, that has Staff level access but no access to Staff shares. So they can open applications and use the internet - if they need specific resources they are copied into their profile. We also give Trainee teachers their own account and email as they're usually here for a decent while
  10. We already use the Teacher app here, and that seems to be barely developed either, still missing quite a lot of features. We're thinking about the Parent app, but even our staff use android a lot on personal devices.
  11. Yeah I think out SLT are keen for Staff to undergo a GPDR training exercise, then sign off on it. Anything after that is on their head!
  12. From what I understand, the whitelist only works with G Suite domains, which is a pain
  13. Just out of curiosity how many of you G Suite users allow staff to share files outside of the school domain? We allow it with warnings, as they want to share files with the LEA etc - who don't use G Suite (so sharing with whitelisted domains doesn't work for them) With GPDR, its another way for your data to 'leak' out, but its catch 22 trying to please all people.
  14. Thanks, unfortunately it just shows how presonus don't recognise multi-user environments as you have to copy the license file across to previously created user accounts. We have potentially 100's that may use it! However I have found a workaround which seems to work! For anyone having a similar problem, copy the ~/Library/Preferences/Presonus folder to the /System/Library/User Template/English.lproj/Library/Preferences folder and any newly created accounts get a copy of the license file!
  15. I'm trying to get Presonus Studio One to play nice on one of our macs - we have a single license and its installed and activated ok. The issue is the mac is used by multiple users (AD authentication) but the stupid thing only activates for the original user - so everyone else is asked to activate! Its crazy as its only one installation but multiple users. Presonus aren't much help as they obviously expect a mac to be a single user at all times. The license file seems to be held in the ~/Library/Preferences/Presonus/Studio One 2 folder - so is there any concept of a 'Default User' profile like in Windows that I could copy to so every new users gets a copy of the license file? I'm not trying to do anything dodgy here - I just don't get it why the application is activated for the current user only, as the activation uses the machine name anyway!
  16. Yeah I can see the SmeDesktop.exe running in the background, and it appears in the taskbar but no luck. I'm pretty much bust on this as it doesn't even work on a blank install of server 2016, which hasn't been domain joined or anything! Maybe the next version will work....
  17. All I get is this on a W10 machine.
  18. Yeah its frustrating as I've been trying for a while - server 2016 I can get no further than the 503 error, on 10 the best I can get is the message saying IE11 isn't supported! There's no list of prerequisites so I'm not sure if I'm missing something, but it was 2016 and Windows 10 1709 I've been trying, both separate physical machines
  19. I've tried on Windows 10 (default port 6516) and Server 2016 (Port 443) and always get "Error 503 Service is unavailable' Shame as it looks really good.
  20. Hmm that shim toolkit doesn't work with Windows 10 - which is what these PCs will be updated to shortly. Its looking like I'll have to give them rights to the desktop or manually update every time
  21. It does install per user, and writes to the Start Menu and Desktop - which are redirected to a network share - they only have read only access to that which is what crashes it. I've never looked at creating a compatiblity shim before - might have to investigate that!
  22. Anyone else use Sage 200C ('online') in a redirected desktop/start menu environment? Its hardly a cloud system as it installs a ton of stuff locally - but after an update users get an error - which is because it tries to delete (and add) shortcuts to the users desktop and start menu, which are redirected to network locations (Windows 7) Giving them write permissions fixes the problem, but it also means any files they accidentally leave on the desktop are replicated across all users, which isn't ideal! Just wondering if anyone else using this awful software has found a way around this, maybe a way to force it to install shortcuts locally?
  23. I'm struggling to get it to work on my Server 2016 install, always says page cannot be displayed, or ERR_TUNNEL_CONNECTION_FAILED in Chrome, failed at the first hurdle!
  24. Got it thanks, my wifi was disconnecting as it was looking for a server certificate, the apps now show up when synched!
  25. Hmm I think something is up with my deployment. I provisioned the chromebook (using a manually added wifi) and the chromebook Device has a Wifi setting for it (in Networks) assigned to the device (not the user) - but as soon as the user logs in, they lose the wifi connection. They can manually select the connection and it then reconnects but it probably explains why settings aren't being pulled down.
