We took on the project of looking to find ways of saving money on our telephony and the same as you the price looked too good to be true, but after nearly 2 years with Gamma and 3CX I can happily say it was the best decision we ever made and the inclusive pricing is exactly what they list.

If these are still available for free I’d happily have them as we still use these onsite so would be good for spares or simply second monitors, where are you located?

Looking for Helpdesk software for my team
psumner1992 replied to m0bov's topic in Learning Network Manager
Would be interested to see screenshots of this please if you don’t mind? We are moving more and more to SharePoint now so might be a good upgrade for us to move from Spiceworks and have everything in one place. -
Tested this now it’s in public release and the speed difference is phenomenal.

How about this one: [email protected]

We are with Gamma as a direct customer for trunks only and it is around £4 per trunk per month with inclusive calls to 01/02/03/07 numbers. Struggled to find any better deal, with around 40 extensions. Pricing was obtained via the CCS framework under RM1045.

This is a great addition for shared machine locations and will help use OneDrive without slow login times.

New to secondary school licensing
psumner1992 replied to davidstallwood's topic in Licensing Questions
Try Very PC, @johnlevis, they are very knowledgeable when it comes to Microsoft licensing and very good on pricing. From the sounds of it you would be looking at OVS-ES subscription agreement calculated based on staff FTE figures with desktop bundle to cover OS, Office, Core CAL suite plus licenses for 3 x Windows Server DataCentre to cover your Hyper-V’s (licensed by cores, minimum purchase amount of 16 cores and they come in 2 core packs) again covered under OVS-ES, not based on FTE. Unfortunately Microsoft pricing keeps going higher and higher every year. My advice, try and lock in a 3 year price deal to keep the same costs for 3 years. Hope this helps. -
Sorry for bringing up an old post, just wondering if anyone has this working successfully on Windows 10? When we try to run this at log off it seems to be running in the background when logging off as we can hear it but cannot see the box. Any ideas?

Need help removing students from gal in o365 in bulk
psumner1992 replied to round2it's topic in How do you do....it?
Sorry, just tried this on our tenancy and you are right it doesn't work. Very odd though as the syntax of it is correct, it must be something to do with the field of Title. Sorry I couldn't be of help on this occasion. - - - Updated - - - This looks like it should work, test with a few first to be sure. -
Need help removing students from gal in o365 in bulk
psumner1992 replied to round2it's topic in How do you do....it?
You’ll be looking at something similar to below: Get-Mailbox -ResultSize Unlimited | Where {$_.JobTitle -eq "Student"} | Set-Mailbox -HiddenFromAddressListsEnabled $true If you’re syncing your accounts from AD to office 365 via something like AAD connect then the above won’t work, instead you’ll need to edit users in AD to change the active directory property “msExchHideFromAddressLists” property needs to be set to “true”, this can be found in attribution editor. https://www.morgantechspace.com/2017/09/hide-and-un-hide-users-from-gal-powershell.html?m=1 -
We went down the route of a separate network for CCTV in the beginning, after a year we merged with the main network on a dedicated VLAN. Reasons: 1) Simpler for management as the cameras and recorders can be accessed from multiple locations onsite rather than limited places linked to the CCTV infrastructure. 2) When you want to add extra cameras/recorders you can attach to existing patched sockets without the need for running new cabling each time. 3) You can configure email alerts for motion during certain hours of the day, e.g. nighttime to spot any intruders. We were running out of capacity on our main switches so we purchased dedicated HP 2650-48 switches for IP cameras from eBay for around £35 - £40 each, only 10/100 switch ports which were ideal as the cameras only run at 10/100 anyway but there are 2 gig uplink ports to connect to main network which were perfect for our needs. Our site has around 60 IP cameras and 2 recorders and adding around another 40 cameras this summer. We haven’t noticed any speed issues with adding CCTV to main network with dedicated VLAN but all our main network switches are gig to the client and 2 x LAG Gig uplink ports back to the core.

SchoolComms is also another option. As a previous SLG user we much prefer SchoolComms for our parents.

SIP Trunk provider recommendations?
psumner1992 replied to Shaun_Dark_Lord's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
Sounds about right, although the 5000/2000 minutes are per trunk so if you have 5 you would get 25000/10000. Numbers you just pay the initial setup costs of £1 each and then no additional monthly fees. -

SIP Trunk provider recommendations?
psumner1992 replied to Shaun_Dark_Lord's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
We are just using them to supply the SIP trunks and then have them set up on an onsite server running 3CX. They do offer hosted options though on their horizon system. -
We added UPN suffixes to all our staff and student accounts to match our Office365 tenancy domain name to allow us to correctly map our local AD accounts set as school name.internal to our Office365 tenancy for Azure AD Connect to work correctly. Didn’t notice anything different or any issues it simply worked thankfully.

SIP Trunk provider recommendations?
psumner1992 replied to Shaun_Dark_Lord's topic in Mobile Devices & Tablets
We have been using Gamma for around 7 months. 10 SIP trunks with inclusive landline and mobile calls, extremely low pricing and very reliable service, not a single amount of downtime. -
That’s more complicated than I thought. Sorry I won’t be able to help.

It depends which parts you want to analyse. I could be reading your request wrong but I will try and help. I would have an extra sheet within the spreadsheet and perform some countif formulas on this data to give you some summaries, you can then convert those into percentages and into graphs if necessary. For example to count how many are on track etc or how many have achieved a 9-5 grade. Hope that helps.

CBC Computers Sheffield. These have some very good pricing, ask for Ben Mitchell. They do everything you can think of IT and Non-IT related.

[sims] Award Achievements to a User Defined Group
psumner1992 replied to duesouth's topic in MIS Systems
We achieved this by adding the extra curricular activity as a timetabled lesson at the end of the day. -
Another one for Gamma as a direct customer. Been with them for just over a month and very impressed. Support and sales teams are both very good and cost is extremely low. Very easy to increase number of Trunks required simply by phoning or emailing.
