  1. So if we implement PCNS like we have for Live@Edu by editing settings in the version of FIM hidden inside DirSync, it might work for 365? Obviously not supported by Microsoft. But is that basically what you are doing with test customers? I'm curious and want to go try this out now.
  2. GLPI and OCS inventory is a good setup. Used it in 3 schools. Always done what I needed it to do, but documentation is mainly in French. So have had to google translation bits when doing advanced config. Basic setup is easy with GLPI on MySQL and PHP.
  3. The reason it asks for the password is because it uses a users password to access the network. When you use normal login page it saves password encrypted in frog. Then when using the network file brick it uses the saved password to access the network. With NTLM you bypass the user entering there password at login. So no password has been saved for network access. The reason the staff are working, I suspect it has access to a saved password. To test reset a staff users password then just use SSO (NTLM) and when you use network files brick is should also ask for password just like students..
  4. Any one have any more info on this? Can't wait to see it. Anyone have a link to the Lanview 4 installer? Was on MST software sky drive but lost the link when the site was changed to the LV5 message.
  5. Have you seen this? http://blog.frogtrade.com/2012/04/20/another-big-name-signs-up-for-frog12 Frog have live@edu widgets that iframe OWA (they might be in the widget store). They should work the same with Office365 OWA. The only thing that will not work is the SSO (singal sign on) kit in Frog for live@edu. This is because office365 now uses ADFS. Frog are looking into implementing ADFS for office365. But this might take some time.... I am not migrating from live@edu to 365 now becouse of the SSO. But can say Frog live@edu SSO works realy well.
  6. I have never had any issues with terastations and backupexec, but would go for a PRO version. Just so you can join to the domain. LIVE versions don't binde to windows domains. I once had to flash a terastation live with pro firmware just to get it to join the domain. Not fun and not supported, so pay a bit more for the pro version.
  7. We use the PaperCut with shared accounts and don’t give anyone credit on their personal accounts. We use the shared accounts as department accounts, similar to how most schools do on their photocopiers. Each department has a pin code and they enter that code in the popup window to release there prints. Also for students/pupils printing each department has a second student pin code. The only difference being that the student codes change twice a day. (Done with a simple script and scheduled task) This is to stop students memorizing pin codes and printing to the incorrect department. All department pin codes are published on intranet/VLE for staff access only, Staff then only give out the code to classes when they want students/pupils to print. At the end of each month the total of Staff and Student shared accounts are charged back to the departments covering toner and paper. (Departments are allocated in budgets enough funds to cover their printing charges.)
  8. If you join the Frog server to the domin for NTLM SSO the backup share is then access by a backup user on the domain. Then windows server should be able to use that domain user to access the frog backup share. Not tryed it but should work.
  9. 1 Create a proxy exception to bypass the proxy for autodiscover.yourdomain.com in IE proxy configuration on workstation. 2 Create a DNS record on your onsite DNS server called autodiscover.yourdomain.com that points to the dns address of 365 autodiscover address.
  10. We use Frog with integration with SIMS and AD. Also have single sign on from Frog to Kerboodle, I am Learning and Microsoft Live@Edu. Thay also have several other SSO kits and widgets for other 3rd party web systems.
  11. LOL nice and secure then You might want this one also. Frog Live - Frog Knowledge Base
  12. You must first logonto a frog server and then click on the link in the top right for the frogcommunity. Then open the link: http://www.frogcommunity.com/index.phtml?d=2370743
  13. Frog NTLM SSO needs a domain to work. So you would be better using old Frog Live SSO on 7 Home computers. But if multiple users are using them with the same user acount, you don't whant SSO!
  14. That's not my school site, but I did write the code they use to do this. It is not supported by Frog and done through a (unsupported) PHP brick that redirects based on the domin URL you visit the frog box from. I have requested this to be added to the toolkit as a multiple home page and domain config option. But it didn't get very far.... I can't post the FRG file on edugeek or I will be shot by the Frog Police. Send me a PM with your email.
  15. Do you mean somthing like this: If you go to this address you get the school website: www.sheldonschool.co.uk And this one you get the VLE login page: shelnet.sheldonschool.co.uk
  16. The registry fix for the issues with IE8 NTLM and Frog AD SSO is: You cannot post data to a non-NTLM-authenticated Web site
  17. Frog (James and team) have found a work around with a registry fix for the issues with IE8 that we have tested and look to have fixed 95% of the issues. Issues are around access to files stored on the frog file system, creating homework, creating frog pages, forms brick and rss feeds brick. If you are using IE9 you will be ok. As for Apple Mac SSO it will never work as Frog have implemented using NTLM a Microsoft technology. When I asked one of the Frog Dev team why they didn't use Kerberos to support Mac I was told it would have been a security risk to access to there system files on the server.
  18. Adito is free and was forked from SSL-Explorer so should be fermilier to you. what_is_openvpn-als
  19. What about this? Never tryed it myself. http://www.edugeek.net/forums/sims-bulk-import/99098-sims-bulk-import.html
  20. Well I can tell you Extricom blankets at my school just didn't work. But my new Ruckus AP's we installed locally on laptop trolleys work 100% of the time. Only got Ruckus because Extricom fails on our site, but don't have the cash to completly replace the Extricom. I'll swap you my Extricom 802.11n kit any day for some more Ruckus kit.
  21. Pete. If you are running IE8 of IE7 there are currently some bugs with frog file system access and rss brick. It should be fixed in the October build. Just a heads up if you are pushing it out to your users.
  22. @Aggy Excellent, do you have a reference number for the existing feature request Aggy?
  23. Thanks for the info. Still have the question of, Is the hardware capable of Link aggregation? And if yes, then Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP) would be a good feature request for ZDs in tunnel mode......
  24. We need to use tunneling mode on our mobile trolley APs as the wirless VLAN dose not come out of standard desktop ports in the class room. So why do the ZDs have 2 NICs? What is the point? Is the hardware capable of link aggregation? The Ruckus switchs support IEEE 802.3ad Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP), so why have Ruckus not implemented in the ZD 3000? As every one mentioned tunneling mode is not comonly used. But in my usercase it is necessary, so LACP would be an ideal solution to limit the bottleneck. Aggy could you get Stuart to submit a feature request to Ruckus for LACP on the 2 NICs on the ZD3000 for use with tunnel mode. If the hardware can cope it makes sense if the switches already support LACP. Thanks All
  25. I have some APs in tunnel mode on laptop trolleys. Ther trafic is routed via the ZD. So the more bandwidth the better
