agreed BIG problems for early adopters.. i dont like the silverlight interface either, does scale well

i have a feeling that each mapped connection from a pc counts as 1 rather than just one pc counting as 1 connection if that makes sense

we have just started using KMS licensing on a server and i did notice an odity, we have a couple of Win 7 clients on the network, the KMS was setup ok but the server wasnt being reached from the clients, turned out that one of the Win 7 boxes had registered itself in DNS as the KMS host for the network. had to manually edit the KMS entry in DNS to reflect the correct location.

primary school i support has 25ish pc's plus another 10 laptops and is happily ticking over on a single CPU Dell SC poweredge, it is a few years on now, only reasons why we may be considering to change this is because the warranty has expired so this will most likely be moved to offer some redundancy. (in 5 years i have been looking after them the Dell Server has had 2 problems 1 PSU & 1HDD ) back to topic , most primaries can run on rather modest server equipment as there arent going to be 90 pupils all logging in at the same time, so a low-mid range server will give all the power required and plenty of head room for later on. you can run it all off the one server and it would be fine, but you wouldnt have any redundancy if there was a hardware failure (if budget is limited this might be the only option) id also go for rack mounted kit where possible in a dedicated area as i have found you will get lumped with a "shelf" somewhere and this is ball ache

we have had this in the past so have asked that no major imports or exports are carried out during the school day (9am-3pm) to prevent disruption to registration etc.

all i have to say is faststone photo resizer awesome piece of free software (prolly already been mentioned)

i had this on a AM3 board a while ago, would boot and then stop or complain about fan headers, turned out it was an iffy mainboard. id run a memtest on it and do some stress testing as well.

i dont believe i have access to the layouts folder to actually drop anything into it, looks like i will be contacting capita/LEA to see what they can offer.

anyone had any luck with editing or creating any of the default SLG themes provided by there LEA's? as i would like to change colours to bring the gateway into line with the colour of the website and existing moodle VLE.

still using one of these for my day to day tasks.. though i have and operon 144 to drop in when i get round to it...

do you have a common desktop or a customiseable one which follows them about as part of the profile?

Hi all, recently started setting up the SLG views for Students, struggling slightly as the students timetable is empty after inserting it into the page. The "my planner screen" shows markers for the different terms. Is there anything else i need to do after provisioning a student? All the students attendance and other achievement and behaviour is being displayed properly so im guess i have missed a check box somewhere? thanks

i think they might have patched NovaT6 as ran the update yesterday and the build number is one version higher than stated in the documentation

IIRC changing the user name should be reflected in Exchange, i would set an alias to catch any email from external sourcing sent to the old address

looks like its missing black to me. is the black toner actually getting to the developer in a good amount, heard of issues where a pipe/feed can become blocked on some lasers which reduces the amount of toner getting onto the page. draft setting turned on?

i wouldnt mind betting that its an Intel/LSI RAID card, both should have web utilities which show you information and allow execution of commands from that. id be inclined to pop the case off and have a look and the card itself if its a seperate card. do you still have the driver software for the server as the tools for it will be on one of those. *the intel RAID tools are on their website for download

tbh a modern 7200RPM/5400 SATA drive is still ideal for holding a large amount of data and delivering it at highspeed. i see novatech are selling 1TB drives for around £34.00 which is a bargain and the short of thing that is ideal for teaming up with a SSD

i have a 64GB (iirc) in my pc at home and have been pleased with it so far having moving from a 10K 150GB Raptor which was no slouch. still need a second HDD for other storage mind.

ahh missed that part not ideal then. perhaps a message rule would provided the automation you require, as part of the after "mail has been sent options"
