i believe alot of the driver downloads are duplicated on Kyocera's site for example a download to a FS1920 will also work fine with a 1750 etc

been tempted but havent played for months as lost total interest after enjoying Wrath as it was accesable even for the casual player (but the hardcore said it was too easy) then cata went completely the other way. friend who i introduced have got MoP and i might be tempted to as the scenarios and ability to 3 man dungeons sounds more geared to casual play, i do wonder what the hardcore feel about the simplified skill sets etc? currently nursing an SC2 habit....

having switched to the PCL driver on the server have spent the last couple of days with very swift printing have been keeping an eye on it to see if its an issue of connections not being dropped etc but so far looking alot better

for the deployment share i add the domain computers share as in the guide i read about deployment its specified that this specific group be added to access the folder where MSI is shared from.

the universal PCL driver does have 2 sided printing? with version 2.42

recently migrated our kyocera drivers to 2008R2 and the performance has been very poor compared to the old setup on 2003, there appears to be an improvement in priting speed when using the classic PCL kyocera drivers. have not tried the KDPL drivers as found the KX ones are more user friendly for setting options at print time. found these posts on technet which might be of interest. Delayed Print Jobs Print Spooler slowdowns the last one has an interesting point about the printer port dns. with this im assuming the client is setup with local port printing to a printer share? printing direct to IP doesnt have the same problem so that does narrow it down to actually being forwarded from the server to the printer. ahh the march of progress lol

well there isnt any cash for a new pc and its specific to the music department its in....

its nice to open a door in an office and find a pc has been battered about sadly the pc in question is a BTX style case which are thin on the ground anyone brought any recently or happen to have an sat gathering dust which they could part with?? thanks

this is good i wasnt sure if you can run it on an XP client to make changes on other machines

if you are using a windows 7 client you can use PRINTUI to remotely remove drivers (i dont think its part of XP)

very much this imo, however some schools are so in love with the tablet replace everything that they forget a gradual and planned approach to see who actually would use and need one. We had a school give a talk about involving BOYD into a school from idea to actually being fully used along with the existing hardware/software was around 18months if that makes sense

some time spent analysing the space and using something like faststone to reduce large images down to a sensible size would be what i would be looking at doing. rather than adding capacity where it might not be needed.

was given a full refund so no worries there, bit odd they couldnt source stock ( it was a reseller through amazon)

well the XFX 6870 lasted 2 evenings before the fan packed up... looking at the reviews on amazon the version i brought has a worse rep than the reference design they do. prices have gone up as well

i think if you set the date/time for when it needs to be installed by to before todays date it will roll it out. might be that it needs to be reapproved. or that the machines are not set to install non critical updates as its an additional package.

+1 on the above iirc i have an OCZ Oynx which was/is the bottom spec ssd they did at the time and i noticed a difference compared to the 150GB raptor i was using as a boot drive (now for fast storage for games)

plumping for a HD6870 better in the things that i play, have to put up with some extra noise lol

it does make a difference, the SSD even tho its a budget one id be slightly put off by the 460's reputation of being a loud noisy thing (the 260 isnt too bad).

yeah DDR on a gfx card is just plain wrong if you are going to do anything serious with it..

monitor is only a 19" at present tho iam looking to get something around the 22-24" shortly. rest of the PC is a typical pc used for games that is a couple of years old (Phenom X2 550 4GB RAM (soon to be 8GB) GTX 260 64GB SSD) max budget would be around 100-120 ish i guess

just added 2 windows 7 drivers (for as kyocera) both x86 and x64 and its show the environment as being Windows NT x86 and Windows x64. this is the same for the Kyoceras HP and Epson Drivers.... you would only add a 2008R2 driver if you want to actually print from the server to the printer

i use the print management and navigate to the print server and the drivers tab then add driver selecting either x86/X64. it then asks where the driver file is you dont need to specify what the driver os type is as it gets that from the "OEMSETUP.INF" of the driver the Kyocera and HP drivers i use for both XP32/64 it says Windows NT x86 for the 32 bit versions and Windows x64 for the 64 bit versions. it should the the same for windows 7 but specify windows seven in the description, i need to add a couple of Win7 drivers today so i can let you know. also i would suggest removing the old drivers from the server before adding new ones.

having spent a while trawling through the nividia site looking for an replacement for a GTX260. some of the specs for a GTX460 / 550 TI look better apart from the memory interface is a lower bitrate. im assuming that improvements in the architecture mean this doesnt make a huge different and the newer cards are better in terms of performance Noise etc. as the GTX260 is/was a sweetspot for gaming for alot of people.

when the pc connects to the server or you roll out a driver it will ask for the XP/NT4/2000 driver as that is the OS, the driver version is specific to that OS hence why the 2008R2 is a different version. well thats my take on driver versions and differings OS's. i think 2008R2 needs the driver versions to be the same for 32/64 bit for them to be rolled out to the correct machine type.

The earthwatts does looks a good PSU. in the end settle for Akasa ES Power 350W Power Supply Unit (AK-P350AG8-SLUK) - www.misco.co.uk seeing as it has a good range of connectors as some other psu have lots of molex and few sata or visa versa. i was tempted to bring an older enermax in from home as that would have been ideal.
