it says access is denied but it isnt when you map it manually...odd! If it doesnt have permission will it not map the drive atall?
-
its a server, copied same path as old policy. Can browse to the location and manually map it if logged on as a user.

I have one drive that isn't showing....any ideas?

Great thank-you very much! Didnt realise you needed to do this in a clean GPO, i thought it only applied when making changes to an existing one. I have given you rep for your help on this matter

So i need to add the old drive to my new GPO but add it with the delete action?

Hi guys, happy new year to you all! We have been experiencing all kinds of lockups and logon problems which i have narrowed down to the drive mappings group policy. We have 2 NAS boxes which we both mapped as drives through group policy but no longer require them. I copied the credentials from the old policy for network drives we wanted to keep and did not add the two NAS drive mappings onto a new policy. When a user logs on they are still on the mapped drive list therefore causing the original issue. Any idea how to remove the old mappings? The user can right click and disconnect from them fine but we need this to happen automatically. It would seem the settings are staying on their roaming profile? Many thanks

that's exactly what we want! I tried installing it today but it kept stopping services and needed SQL installing so I've left it for another day. Is it easy to install? It was asking for IP addresses of incoming / outgoing mail but i'm not sure what these were

anyone used Sophos Pure Message before? Thats another one we are already licensed for.

How do you either restrict / unrestrict access to the 'downloads' library in user accounts or change the default path for downloads through group policy? When students try and download files at the moment they are presented with this error (default path is downloads folder):

Outlook 2010 Junk GPO Whitelist & Blacklist Problem
Darylrese replied to Darylrese's topic in Windows Server 2008 R2
also, is there a way of automatically deleting / achiving emails in the junk filter after a set period of time? Say 28 days? Right clicking on jun email in outlook allows me to enable it but cant find it in GPO? -
We are licensed for forefront, how does that work? does it have any user interaction atall? The biggest problem is genuine email gets marked as SPAM, some people want addresses blocked, others want them unblocked

Morning, Currently we have a program called ORF which filters SPAM email on our exchange server, however i have recieved many complaints about the users not being able to control it themselves and important emails going missing or delayed so the bosses want a solution they can control through outlook. Therefore i am looking into the Outlook 2010 Junk E-Mail filter. I have created a new GPO with the custom ADM template, settings are below but the whitelist / blacklist wont populate for users automatically as they should. The other settings in the GPO apply fine. I read on the internet its because of a registry value importjunklists needing to have a vlue of '1' but it already does and still isnt working? Any idea whats wrong? I have followed this guide: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2252421 Also tried setting it in Office Customization Tool and installing the MSP it creates but no luck either. Does anyone use this feature and if so, have you had any success? I realise its not a great solution but giving the bosses what they want! GPO: REGISTRY: BLANK LIST (Should be populated from text file)

reinstalled with different IP address, still no luck getting a responce from it. We are going to see if we can use the built in junk filter in outlook to give control to the users, has anyone else used this feature before? Having problems getting the whitelist / blackloist to work through GPO

i managed to find a command to pick up from DHCP, it picked up a random address which almost worked, it said not a trusted cirtificate in the broswer, clicked continue, it changed address to https://mailcleaner/admin but then said page cannot be displayed Maybe i will try a staff VLAN address instead of a server VLAN ip.
-
i manually set it to our server ip range so yes it is indeed. how do i change it to pick up from DHCP?
-
sorry just realised it was ifconfig not ipconfig haha. Heres the result: I cant ping 10.93.10.210 or browse to https://10.93.10.210/admin

'find / -name ip_configurator' does nothing 'ipconfig' says -bash ipconfig: command not found. I cant ping the default IP or the one i set. After populating the network details theres a 5min period before it goes back to the menu screen...the installation video shows it as being instant...is that normal?
-
EXCELLENT. Yes i did, however, the instructions arnt that accurate. I installed it, de attached ISO, rebooted and then it goes straight into installation, completed on its own, asked for a password and ID, all the services started and now i have this screen: If i login with 'root' and password of 'def', im not sure what to do next. I cant ping 192.168.1.101 and the command > /root/bin/ip_configurator doesnt work! Tried connecting with Putty no joy either?
