Hi All Am i correct in assuming that the GCSE %'s that the DCSF calculate are based on the students who you submit in the January Schools Census. Example We submitted 249 students in our Y11 in January Census but a student has been taken off roll leaving us 248. When it comes to results day in August i will be exporting the results to Excel to do the analysis. I will be calculating the results based on 248 students but the DCSF will be calculating their %'s based on the students we submitted in Jan. Is this correct? What if a really bright student joins us in March and gets 10 A*'s do they count as our results or the school they were at during the census? Mark

Another case of "blame someone else" just the culture we live in, its never your own fault. how are kids meant to learn to take responsibilities for their own actions? god help her when shes in the REAL World and makes a balls up of something:eek:

Have you been using it long? Some of the stuff is a pig to work with and they certainly do not make it easy to extract information

Does anyone have any student relatives in their school?

WTF this is your future mother-in-law speaking to you like that?? Not that it would happen, but if they spoke to me like that i would be tetaring her a new one!! -
Best one ive seen was at our school just before christmas The little darlings replaced the funtion keys with the word "CU*TFLAPS" obviously replacing the * with a U, tbh you got to admire the fact they came up with a swear word with that number of letters

We use the higher level supply account in the admin controller, we recently had a password leak and changed it straightaway. i really would stay clear of giving them "teacher" style access unless you can lock it down to minimal privileges Mark

^^^ lol good one -
I doubt this thing will be "unique" anyway Im sure the prospective employers will have access to the information stored by the DCSF or RAISEOnline? Somebody probably got paid a vast amount of money to think that idea up

We got ours done eventually today BUT what a pig we had installing ePortal!!! Main reason was we were able to login to ePortal but the database was not bringing through student data, any student name you searched for was not there Got on phone to SERCO at 4:30 yesterday and not resolved by 5pm to which we got the "Sorry im off now" from their support and left us neck in the s**t All sorted now but SERCO said they remoted in and did nothing, and it worked , i might "do nothing" in future to see if my work gets done Mark

Ours will be ran later today so if you see a mushroom cloud over Derbyshire it means the servers gone nuclear lol

Make sure you forward plan the analysis of the results, its ok doing a questionnaire with lots of free text space but they are harder to analyse. You also do not want to limit them to canned responses as you often do not get an accurate view of the person

We use Facility CMIS and we had a fire drill about 6 weeks ago to spectacular failure lol We as a school are supposed to register at the start of every lesson usinf ePortal (web based version of CMIS) that then updates the central database which i manage. As the bell sounded (10 minutes before the end of the lesson) i clicked the firebell button on CMIS, inturn the printer jammed, so out my seat i trot across to the printer to unjam and re try... 6 minutes later i take the registers off the printer to the tennis courts so teachers can do a check Problem ePortal is as reliable as a shoplifter on christmas eve and we found that half of the registers had been completed fully and the other half teachers had given up on and left..... So what is the fooking point in marking kids off against a register that isnt accurate? Sorry but ranting makes me feel good

Hi all Does anyone know where i can get a lookup table to convert KS3 SAT results to a National Curriculumn level? So i can use Excel to convert say a score of 45 for science to a NC level of 5b etc... I know they already give a level but i wish to break it down even further. Mark

Compiled a query in Access that has given me the MapValue and the CriteriaData so visually i can see what each part of the CriteriaData string is but i want to be able to turn this: [] represents the character in the CriteriaData field that splits the criteria CritLabel MapValue CriteriaData Comment 22 20[]4a[]23[]BE[]127[]C[]126[]EF[]22[]61588 Concern 126 20[]4a[]23[]BE[]127[]C[]126[]EF[]22[]61588 Effort 127 20[]4a[]23[]BE[]127[]C[]126[]EF[]22[]61588 More Able 140 20[]4a[]23[]BE[]127[]C[]126[]EF[]22[]61588 Summer NCL 20 20[]4a[]23[]BE[]127[]C[]126[]EF[]22[]61588 Working 23 20[]4a[]23[]BE[]127[]C[]126[]EF[]22[]61588 Into either a table in Access with Summer NCL, Comment, More Able etc as field headings and the content filled with actual vales (not codes) from the criterdata field Hope it makes sense :?:
