That sounds logical! Thank you, I'll persevere with it tomorrow!

We have a site licence for CS5 that covers our 800+ PCs but at the new rates we can't justify updating the licencing to cover them all! Here's hoping Adobe sort this mess out!

Hi, We've been investing time into using MDT instead of making thick images with WDS, but how do the majority of you control the apps that you are deploying. We all know that the majority of software aimed at schools in packaged badly, or not deployable at all, but how do you lot deal with this. We don't like when apps install crap start menu items or desktop icons so how do you clean this up for 100's of school apps? Otherwise I can't see that much benefit over just using WDS. Thanks, Michael

We currently have a site license to use CS5 Master Collection but are looking to upgrade to the newest version. We were looking to upgrade the OSX version to CC and we have contacted one reseller and have been told that it is cheaper to buy 100 K12 device licenses than the 28 we actually require. It's coming in over £1000 for one year. This is absolutely ridiculous!!

32bit Print Drivers on 64bit 2012 server
linkazoid replied to the_wuigi's topic in Windows Server 2012
I'm pretty sure they do and I have always made sure that they are on the print server we manage. -
Hi, We have Office 2013 installed everywhere as part of our base image, but some computers have a slightly older version without Outlook. We have created an MSP and this installs Outlook if not already installed, but what is the best way of deploying this? I have the computers that need it installed in a security group. Does anyone have a script that checks if outlook is installed and if not then runs this MSP? Thanks, Michael

Thanks for all your suggestions. We cleaned it up as much as we could and have sent it off. we've not heard back yet so hopefully it was good enough.

We've used it. It needs updating every 8 weeks otherwise it stops working completely. Use this Advanced_Fusion360_Lab_Installation_Instructions_en-GB.pdf to get the correct installer and batch script. It still takes ages to install though. Not the easiest of software to deploy and use. Our DT staff are now trying 123D Design instead.

Once again it's looking great! I have noticed a bug, you cannot use the right-click in the text area and there are a couple of things that nag my inner OCD. There is an apostrophe missing in the AutoSave alert for the word haven't. When clicking X on the autosave popup it still opens the save option rather than cancelling straight away. There is a double separator line in the edit menu under Redo - I think this should be a single one, and i don't think there is a need for the one at the end after Paste. I also preferred the previous screen options settings screen. Especially the option for a softer pastel colours and the information that "This colour change does not apply to printed pages."

We use it too and I feel the same sentiments as above.

That's pretty much how clean I can make it. I can remove the audible hiss, but it makes the candidate sound like they're underwater.
-
The examiner has formally requested by letter that they are cleaned up, so that's what we'd use if anyone complained.
-
We do have the .wav but it's still hard to make it any better.

Here is a sample of what i'm trying to deal with, it's also in Italian. Sample.mp3.txt Had to add .txt to get around the upload restrictions.

Hi, We've been asked by our MFL department to clean up some exam recordings that sound truly awful. We've tried using Audacity to remove the static and reverb, but the examiner has said that they're still unable to hear them. Without resorting to having to ask the students to come back and rerecord, would anyone with proper sound fixing experience be able to try to work some magic? Thanks, Michael

How to create a custom Environment Variable?
linkazoid replied to TwoPlus1's topic in Windows Server 2008 R2
It's now 2016 and we're trying to do this. Did anyone manage to do this with LGfLMail? -
Just noticed a couple of issues. When browsing the forums it either doesn't show the avatar or shows the incorrect one. Photo attached: EDIT: I clicked on web view from the menu for this thread and it didn't open chrome or the WebKit browser but did force it to load all the correct avatars. Also I was looking at this thread Article: EduGeek EDIT Conference 2016 and clicked on the first link by DosBox, it didn't take me anywhere it just reloaded the app.

The kids here seem to be using the following to access YouTube and download music. I have requested reclassification from Atomwide for LGfL Schools. yt.eltuboadventista.com mp3lio.co Makes me miss my old smoothie with content blocking.

Touch wood, we've had less issues of late. We deployed a GPO to disable office plugins. Not sure of what settings it was but will post it tomorow to see if it helps any of you.

That's if you choose the full package. We got the fibre and copper tester from a reseller not Amazon for around £900 -vat a few years ago. It has been well worth the money for us. Especially when we were reconfiguring during BSF. Our old daxten tester used to take around 5 minutes to locate the port, this finds it in seconds.

Seems like using /t /qb seems to do a silent install.

You'll want a Fluke Networks LRAT-2000 LinkRunner - Fluke Networks LRAT-2000 LinkRunner AT Copper and Fiber Ethernet Network Tester: Network And Cable Testers: Amazon.com: Tells you exactly what port is is plugged to, which VLAN (Depending on SW version) and is extremely fast. We bought one a few years ago after a recommendation on EG and it's our most used tool.
