Cheers i'll have a go at that. I had to send back my two previous graphics cards as i kept getting lines on them, and this is the only one which has actually worked for me. NEither of the HDMI ports worked on the old GFX card.

Yeah i have such resolutions as 1920 x 1080 but whatever resolution i have tried, it hasn't worked?

Yeah i checked the HDMI port and it's fine. IT is on the graphics card. It produces an image just appears to be missing a little bit of the screen is missing. IT's rather annoying

Hi guys I don't quite know if this is a Windows 7 problem or if it is just me making a dreaded USER ERROR. I've recently bought a new Graphics card and installed it, all works fine. VGA works fine, DVI works fine and so does HDMI EXCEPT, no matter what resolution i put the graphics card to, i can't see all of the screen when it's plugged into HDMI. It's not much but enough for me not to be able to see the start menu, nor can i see the first column of installed programs/shortcuts on my desktop. I can't seem to fathom this out for the life of me? Is it something really simple? Please help as i would love to play my games on my telly on HD instead of standard VGA or DVI?

I have also noticed that Windows 7 appears to have a brilliant database of drivers, why the hell microsoft couldn't do this in any other of their operating systems is beyond me. Maybe they've actually started to figure out what they should be doing. IT's taken them long enough. I think to be safe windows 32-Bit would probably be better. Personally i prefer 64-Bit, thats what i have on my dual boot mac at the mo.

Hi there =] Right, we are in the process of putting in a suite of 30 machines. All of the computers in the school at the moment except 1 ICT suite are dual boot Mac with windows XP Pro 32-Bit. I have been thinking about putting the new ICT suite in with Windows 7 BUT i am not sure whether we put 32-Bit or 64-Bit on them. I am not sure whether the 64-Bit version will have any conflicts with any of the servers which are running Server 2003. I know there may be a few issues with the kids/pupils using Windows 7 but that isn't the issue. If anyone has any views or comments please reply. I am more inclined to go 64-Bit as that appears to be the way things are going. Cheers

Right, i am trying to install windows on the unpartitioned space of the mac HD, using NTFS File system. It was originally done but then it has now come up with errors saying Disk Read Error. Now when i try and install it, it just hangs and doesn't go past the 0% mark at all, i have been waiting for like 30-40 minutes and ABSOLUTELY nothing has happened, is this just the MAC being a MAC or??? I am going to try NTFS File System (Quick) to see if that does it but i don't normally like to use formating quick option! If anyone has had the same problem please let me know or if someone knows what the problem is then yeah reply also Cheers

Hello my fellow geeks...! Right. The school where i am working have recently bought these nice new HP minis, and we're having a hell of a time installing them. Due to being a school etc we've got a VLK and we've got to download the exe file from the Microsoft education part. So we've now got Windows 7 on a disc (DVD-RW don't know if that makes a difference or not possibly?) It gets to the point where it says ok install Windows 7 now, then says 'select the driver to be installed'... but what i can't figure out is what are the drivers they're looking for? Do they want the windows installation files or do they want the HP drivers? I would of thought all the drivers which would be needed to install windows would be on the disc? I've never had this problem before when installing XP or Vista, why on earth would it need drivers to install a PC, you install the drivers at a later date when you have the OS up and running? And due to our Bl**dy Council and the fact that everything is websense'd or blocked, i can't download the drivers for the HP, but i will do this tonight, but i was just wondering if anyone has come across this before and/or if anyone has a solution? I am rather confused over it? Cheers Ben

Hi guys I can't remeber the name of it so i am trying to find another one or an alternative. But i used to have this piece of software which can look at your device manager and effectively give you a broken down, advanced version of it. It can see what the devices are and gives you information about it. I need this cause i have this computer which has a few missing drivers, and just wanted to find out what they were, and i thought one of the best ways for this is to look at this advanced device manager thing. I found a few on the net but none of them seem to be any good. If anyone knows of a good one then please could you list some... free preferrably. Many thanks f4rn4th

Well yeah thats what i want, i either want ab tutor to get rid of it or in the ad to get rid of it or something in the group policy. I only want restart to be an option do you know how that can be done?

When they are logged on. As i said i am using something called 'Ab Tutor' which is something which restricts some of the use but it still gives you the option to shut down, restart and hibernate. I just wanted the option of restart cause then once it's restarted it'll reload back into the splash screen where you see the option for Mac OS or Windows! Cheers

I am trying to get the option to only restarting when they click the option. I am using AB tutor control and it has restricted the option, but it has left shut down, restart and hibernate. I wondered i there is an option in windows registry or something where it'll only give you the option to restart? I this requires a group policy thing could someone please let me know how it's done, or if anyone has any info on this please reply. Cheers fellow techy's =]
