  1. @ sam_brown. I see what you did there..
  2. I would use preferences for XP. Just make sure you have the clientside preferences installed on XP
  3. Also make sure to remove any .ins files left in the policy folders in sysvol as these seem to take "preference" over "preferences". Even if you cannot see Internet explorer maintenance, these files are stiil there.
  4. Thanks for the reply. I do have a logging script that runs at shutdown, I'll move them to a different ou tomorrow and see if it makes a difference. BoX
  5. I have these in one of my schools, no complaints and not as pricey as some others. Ergotron Products>Charging Carts & Modules
  6. Hi, Sorry to ressurect an old thread, but this just cropped up for me. Did anyone ever find out what the issue was? BoX

  8. Try this, I wrote it a while back and its a bit messy really, but it works for XP. I hope it helps you on your path, ;-) BoX Dim FSO Dim strComputer, objNetwork, objWMIService Dim colItems, objItem Dim objFileSystem, objOutputFile Dim strOutputFile Dim strDirectory Dim objFSO Const NETSETUP_ACCT_DELETE = 2 Const OverwriteExisting = True Const LocalDocumentsFolder = "C:\Documents and Settings\" 'local administrator user/pass to leave Domain and for auto logon. 15. Could you not move the power injector to the cabinet end? Maybe this is not practical in your case?
  16. Bit of an old thread, but I thought I might resurrect as I have xibo running as a screensaver on windows 7. (not tested XP) Screenlauncher from bartdart.com -- freeware for you works for me. You need to ctrl-alt-del to get back to a login. BoX

  19. I was the originator of that other thread, and did not like the way InTouch worked. However, I did have it working and ended up creating a script for ISA 2000 so that if we hat to do any other schools we could easily replicate the settings. You should restart your ISA services." You may need to make some changes, or just plain use the info for you version of ISA. I was in contact with Capita alot trying to get this to work. To start with they only specified that it was port 1194 that needed to be open, but there is so much more! They seemed quite suprised that a fire wall would be so .. well.. secure. The school also had a single server solution, and as such, had IIS on the ISA server and was also running the intranet from there. The capita INTouch services ran from IIS and they were bound to the VPN adapter whose address was assigned by DHCP from Capita's servers. On a server reboot this would cause an issue, as the VPN would sometimes fail to get an IP, which in turn would prevent IIS from starting, so preventing the intranet from being avaliable. In this school the intranet is the home page and evryone would then complain that the "internet" was not working. After 3 months of this the school gave up on InTouch. I sincerely hope you do not have a similar setup. Have fun, BoX
  20. This works brilliantly, proxyswitch - Proxy Switch is a simple application to switch the system proxy settings in Windows on the fly. - Google Project Hosting. It works on the fly, no need to restart the browser at all. BoX
  21. SYSMAN_MK Sorry for the delay, today is actually the first day I have been back to the school in question. I have just spoken with the head teacher and she is very pleased with your work. There may be a couple of tiny tweaks, (font etc), but if you send me the .svg I can do the editing if need be. She does not know which font to use yet. I have also been working through some inkscape tutorials so that I have another string to my bow. Thanks for all your hard work. BoX
  22. This happened to me too a few years back, i have learnt my lesson, kids do not want the healthy option! nephillim, I thought that when they said trick or treat, if you say trick, it is them that plays the trick on you, not you playing a trick on them. BoX
  23. You are a star, thank you. I will check with the school, but it looks great to me. I think the diamonds need rotating 90 degrees tho' BoX
  24. Hi, I have been asked by one of my schools if I can get their school logo updated. I have tried in inkscape, but it seems i dont have the skills. They need the text Walford Primary School circle around the image with A small diamond at approx 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock The thing that looks like a road is in fact a river with 3 golden fishes swimming in it! Please could you try and keep a bit of the naievety as it was designed in a school competition. Thanks in advance. BoX
  25. If you have an android phone you can use for school, try this. Inventory Droid It looks very cheap compared to all the big names out there. It can save all the details to a networked pc in the school too. BoX
