At a recent Microsoft Conference (5th Feb) they said they were releasing for purchase within 180 days. Microsoft well within a deadline?!?! Oh wait they were supposed to release it 3 years ago

I attended the Optimise IT conference yesterday at the Diamond Centre in Rushden and Microsoft were very keen to push all the features. The actual release was said to be "within the next 180 days" straight from a Microsoft mouth. I was very impressed and shall be messing about with the RC a hell of a lot over the next few weeks

I have exactly the same problem FN. I've tried several things including logging on a few different accounts, changing the Access (registered, public, special). Bit stumped to be honest.

nope, it's basically just standard Outlook settings, I haven't personalised it at all. Just thought about it, IMAP and POP3 available, think i'm using POP3

Hi guys, I've setup my EMBC email account on Outlook 2007 but everytime I download my emails to Outlook it deletes them out of my webmail. Very annoying when I need the information from them at work and at home. Probably wouldn't help contacting the C A B until Paypal and Ebay have investigated. They usually resolve the issue themselves in one form or another. If they decide that it wasn't a fraudulent sale then you can start the C A B route. Paypal and Ebay are pretty good at resolving things though, so stay patient.

When you say setup, i've created a mysql database, but i assume that is all u do?

Having some problems here Trying to get the Joomla package up and running on a free hosting package at the moment, as far as i know it supports all that Joomla needs. (Zymic.com) However when I try to setup the installation I'm struggling to login to the MySQL database, it says that the username and password is incorrect. Dunno what i'm doing wrong. host: *myurl*.zxq.net username for database : *myurl*_zxq_net_*myname* database name : *myurl*_zxq_net_*databasename* Tried every purmiatation but it just won't work for me

Big thumbs up from me, having worked with it during my time in Nottingham and now able to use it from a teaching point of view increases my opinion of it. Especially exceptional for primary schools as it has a brilliant logging feature and the ability to remotely start software/websites as some of the key features I use. Wake-on-lan/shut down all also a key feature for primary schools, saving lots of money on electricity and time shutting them all down at the end of the day. I very much recommend a look at this software, continually releasing new features and also very approachable guys if you think of any features that you would like. Cheers Steve

I briefly worked in the housing offices of a certain unnamed council and to be perfectly honest, the job is shit, the wage is shit, and you don't need a single brain cell to do it.

You lucky devil, unfortunately my role ICT Technician & Teaching Assistant has a very open job description. I not only teach 14 lessons a week (split into two groups i take half, my collegue takes the other half) but I have taken on all the responsibilities of a the ICT co-ordinator because our current one does nothing. So low and behold my 11k salary is certainly being abused. Sod it, im enjoying myself

As a cheaper solution we didd exactly the same as Joanne, simply a media pc with a large LCD in the reception area displaying a simple powerpoint with diary dates, welcome screens, short clips of events in and around the school area. The powerpoint can be setup so that it only needs editing by the admin staff and overall can be supported by anyone. The companies sound great but doesn't half cut into your budget for the equipment itself. (inc installation costs/cabling/etc) If you need any help don't hesitate to pm me.

If you're serious about becoming a Network Manager then I would seriously consider a management based degree and taking an A+ > MCSE/Cisco certification on the side.

Well a lot of recruitment companies say they want you to have all these legendary skills but at the end of they day that is to turn the people who don't have a clue from applying. If you know what exchange is then you are more then likely suitable for the job (unless it is specific to the job role ie - Exchange Server Admin) when they say they are looking for people with knowledge of, they usually mean you understand what it's used for. Don't be put off from applying even if you not possess all the skills they need, they are often looking for someone with the willingness to learn. IT is learning for life, and i'm sure that most companies understand that. (never hurts to have the experiance of an interview and fail either because it gives you that much more confidence and willingness to try again).
