  1. How odd. Not to worry. Maybe it is simply Bing Chat
  2. Ahhh not sure... under A5 licence its listed as CoPilot. It's not listed under our A3 licences.
  3. Seems to be visible now in my A5 licence details - but cant access it in any applications as of yet. Is that right?
  4. Just wondered how its going @RobFuller and @supportman and whether you've any good or bad feedback of your experience? Looking into a new phone system at the moment, and to consolidate everything in Teams seems like a good idea (on paper at least).
  5. We use CHG and they have always been fantastic, for price, support, developing the right solution. Always crystal clear information, they've been a good solid company to work with. https://www.chg-meridian.com Hannah is the Account Development Manager in the Education Team
  6. I believe the Avanti west coast main line timetable is being published on the 8th March for the Friday.
  7. Trainline and Avanti West Coast websites have removed ticket sales for the Friday as of this announcement. As with other strikes, expect trains and drivers etc to be in the wrong places the day after the strike, so they will need to redo the timetable? I can imagine it will be chaos on the Friday and seat reservations being cancelled and people standing. Even more chaotic as there is a strike on the Saturday as well.
  8. Is there anyone willing share how they are securing their WiFi onsite, for device connectivity where devices only appear in Azure AD? Please. We use Meraki for our WiFi, but there isn't a method (a straight forward one anyway from what I've researched), to utilise a Radius Service with Azure AD devices. Merkai advise on Cisco ISE with AWS but it is very expensive. We have utilised IPSK but its quite a management overhead and Radius SaaS via 3rd party companies is a very expensive solution. Just wondering what other people are doing? Thank you
  9. We are with https://www.cfcunderwriting.com/en-gb/cyber/
  10. Thanks - never seen that feature - could be just what is needed.
  11. We regularly ask parents to complete forms with supporting documentation to accompany them, but it's a long-winded onerous task to complete. Thinking about the Microsoft Forms Document Upload Feature where anyone within the organisation can submit a file along with a form. Microsoft don't allow external or anonymous users to do such things, so my question is, is there anything out there which allows such functionality that people have a good experience of using? Something where you complete a small form, upload your document and it writes back to a specific OneDrive or SharePoint site? Something like https://filerequestpro.com/ (which is one option I've come across). Cheers
  12. Attempting to deploy Office 2021 LTSC - everything works as expected except for Outlook. All other applications auto sign in, and the applications activate. However.... When you click Outlook it launches the screen to sign in, you add your email address but straight away you get a "Something went wrong" error. You click Change Account Settings, select Office 365 and it simply cycles back to the "Something went wrong" error. Product is licenced and activated Checked all Autodiscover settings and they're correct. Not being blocked by a proxy etc. Outlook 2016 still works as expected. There are no logs anywhere that I can find. Any suggestions would be appreciated
  13. Received the following from AQA. Computer readiness article v4.0.pdf Basics of it are that the user needs to be an administrator of the device to get the software to work properly, nothing more about the technicalities of why, or if settings (whatever they may be) can be enabled just for the standard user without admin rights. ": Please have a chat with your education establishment’s IT technician or their IT provider and ask for assistance. You will need them to change your computer user rights to having local/full administrative rights. Note that educational establishments are not obliged to do this for you, it’s just good will on their part." Bit annoying how they describe enabling it as good will of the IT dept. as well! Nothing to do with good will, how about security of the device or systems in place. Anyway wont be spending more time on this one, its an unfortunate no we cant facilitate it.
  14. Is you can post any responses you get on here that would be great - I never got one when I emailed.
  15. School are keen to allow staff to use their device as we value having staff that are markers.
  16. Is there any official "wording" anywhere from the exam board regarding the use of school owned devices, or rather the encouragement of NOT using school owned devices. Spent a significant amount of time on this issue, and still no further on. Whatever the software is trying to connect to enabling via, smoothwall, firewall and WDAC is just far too time consuming when no assistance is offered from the exam board themselves.
  17. We've had the exact same issue. Runs, try to login and greeted with a red error box saying the requested connection is unavailable and the system will now shutdown (or words to that effect).
  18. I've been looking for quotations for kit to install in the summer and Stone have a new AIO being released, but as of yet have no images or product sheets. They will quote me but i'm not willing to buy blind (i want to see what they look like) even through the processors they will house are 12th Gens, compared to HP and Dell who will only ship me an AIO with 10th Gens.
  19. A3 licences for students are free (I think it was 100 student licences for every 10 faculty licences bought?)
  20. Netflix with their latest price increase is up for the chop, and Virgin bundle is up for reduction come August when the renewal is due - wont sacrifice the internet connection they provide but the TV package is almost certainly going to be cancelled saving about £80 a month plus the £15 quid from Netflix.
  21. Use Vestel here; have about 20 units - both a mixture of interactive and non interactive depending on what each dept. required. A large number of teachers prefer interactivity on their device, which casts to the screen, rather than standing at the screen itself, hence the mixture. Very good panels from a display point of view, and the 10 point touch is fine. Ability to lock all the settings so people cant mess, and freeze function works well. One down side, I personally think the 2x12W speakers are a bit tin sounding to be honest, there is a line out port so we have external speakers for areas such as Music and MFL. But other depts. haven't complained and been using them since September. Price point is bang on and after issues with BENQ over the years, and when compared with other manufacturers side by side Vestel was a clear winner, especially because of the price point! Even by adding external speakers to Music and MFL they were still more cost effective than the next brand. Have to admit - didn't trial Iiyama
  22. AQA to launch major on-screen assessment pilot - https://www.aqa.org.uk/news/aqa-to-launch-major-on-screen-assessment-pilot Just wondering if anyone on here has been asked to be part of the 100 school trial?
  23. Aware that it is 2022! We use RDS gateway, on a different port, with MFA enabled, only specific users can access it via groups setup in AD, and after significant brute force attempts (22 attempts a second!) we restricted to UK only IP Addresses on our firewall. Sadly the brute force continued from UK IP Addresses, so we have restricted further to individuals own IP Addresses at their place of residence, however these are changing constantly and its becoming difficult for people to work effectively because if their IP changes over a weekend or during the day they cant access until we update the firewall configs. So I'm wondering if I could remove the individual IP Restrictions, and use RDP Guard to monitor and block failed brute force attempts from UK IP Addresses, while blocking all other countries on the firewall?
  24. Sorry to bump a very old thread, but does anyone still use RDPGuard to good effect?
  25. Single site, with a folder for each department to put documents. Each dept. also capable of making pages of their own with links to their documents folder.
