Hello 'geekers! Bit of a weird one here, I've been told that nobody can print from Adobe Reader. Upon going to have a look all that pops up in the printer selection box is an old printer connection from a print server that doesn't exist any more, what's even weirder is that this machine was re-imaged a week ago. Any help appreciated, I'm stuck for ideas now! Matt

The main thing was staying in the windows environment. Easy to manage, maintain etc. Also, im a complete noob here but planning to use local hosts storage.

Are you setting up a new Apple ID or using an existing one for the App Store? When I did ours we had to link it to a card even though the app was free. Nothing gets charged unless you buy a paid app. Matt

Thought about it, didn't like the fact that you have to License the host as well as the clients, when there is stuff out there (ESXi & XenServer) that can do the same for free. EDIT: Just to add, we are not part of an EES agreement - yet. By that time we will have XenServer running.

Just seen this: At a feature and functionality level, the only difference is that free Citrix XenServer users will not be able to use XenCenter for automated installation of security fixes, packaged updates, bug fixes and maintenance releases. Is there a limit as to how many VM's you can run? Also does it have the remote admin facility such as vSphere or whatever the client is called?

This year a plan of mine will be to virtualise our non critical servers (Web, Print etc) using VMWare ESXi but was wondering if my fellow Geeks can provide recommendations and/or quotes for suitable hardware? Must be a rack-mount server as I am trying to consolidate all our tower servers into our racks. Also how many servers can be ran on ESXi (the free version) Many thanks, Matt.

Having seen this thread http://www.edugeek.net/forums/security/129478-constant-attempted-hacks-attacks.html I've become concerned about the HAP install we are about to launch come March. How can we protect ourselves against external attacks and what are the best practices for defending against being compromised? Is there a serious market out there for hacking into small UK schools? You cannot do this on a default vanilla server. It has to be Bukkit with Multiverse. My public server runs multi verse and its flawless! Could you not just turn off TNT?
