3CX sales said a SIP trunk is not included so don't know why they say the price includes calls. This may cause us problems as we have 30 extensions but only need a few SC. Do you have information on what the new pricing might be?

Pricing up the options to move 3CX another hosting and understand 3CX can offer this for £590. It says price includes calls so does that mean the SIP trunk is included?

New Chromebooks Setup advice required
Jobos replied to password1234's topic in ChromeOS & Cloud Based OS
Inherited this system so not familiar with the workings and I understand it was setup over lockdown. Looking on our Google Admin console there is no mention of device management so is Google Workspace for Education Fundamentals the same as device management and is the Chrome upgrade for the flex licence as if so we only have around 30 with Flex installed that the Geobooks used so don't know where the other licences went. -
Yes it does and without distortion. I just had to edit the arguments a little so it is now ffplay.exe -f dshow -i video="HUE HD Camera" -vf "transpose=2,transpose=2"
-
Just as I thought, the camera app on LTSC 1809 is too old to rotate the image.
-
Only the admin machines are running Win 11, the teaching machines are still running LTSC 1809 so might not have the ability to change the rotation but I will check.
-
Further to my posts above I have found the rotated image is not as clear as the non-rotated image. I have tried a number of different filters but nothing is working to clean up the image. This is what I have so far. "C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe" dshow:// :dshow-vdev="HUE HD Camera" :vout-filter=transform --transform-type=180 --video-filter "transform{true}" The images are with and without being rotated but look to dark here but fine on the screen. Any ideas?

Would you believe it, just over an hour from my last post I was contacted by Inventry saying they saw my post on EG and were very sorry for the delay and by close of play on Tuesday a new reader had been fitted. I can't fault the service when the right people get involved.
-
Update: Wow Inventry support was slow before but now it's crazy slow. When I reported the fault to Inventry on the 16th I included a photo of the reader same as the one above since then Inventry have requested a video of the fault with the reader in a boot loop. This was sent 6 days ago and heard nothing back since. Our finance department tells me it was fitted by Inventry 18 months ago so hoping it will be a warranty repair hence waiting for support.

Unifi Guest Network Landing Page Not Redirecting
Jobos replied to Jobos's topic in Wireless Networks
I didn't realize but had autoupdate enabled on the Unifi console and it seems a lot of people are having problems with this version. https://community.ui.com/releases/UniFi-Network-Application-9-4-19/6396efa7-0955-4733-a524-f028994f5f50 -
MSP setup the server that I have inherited and they used DFS for the file shares but as there was only one server there wasn't any replication. I found an old server in the store room and as the servers are still offsite I thought I would try enabling replication to speed up file access. I did this Friday and comparing file numbers on both remote and local servers shows there are a large number of missing files on the local share. I first thought this was because of the time needed to sync the files but I checked the file numbers yesterday and this morning and they are the same. Remote file share: 422884 Local file share: 416183 So 6701 less files on the local share. Are these temp files that do not need to be replicated? Also while I'm asking about DFS what happens to conflicted files that were locked while being replicated as I see a couple of files in the ConflictAndDeleted folder? Thanks.

Unifi Guest Network Landing Page Not Redirecting
Jobos replied to Jobos's topic in Wireless Networks
9.4.19 so quite new. -
Using Unifi with a Sophos XG router and in the middle of setting up the guest network but having trouble getting the landing page to appear. I first tested the network by having the hotspot set to off and using a password. This worked, clients got the correct IP and the filter worked correctly. I have now set Unifi to use the captive portal and to use vouchers but although clients are still getting the correct IP the captive portal landing page is not appearing. Any tips?

Yes laser is the way forward as toners would last years without drying up. So far I have looked at the Laserjet Pro 3202dw @ £230 but need to check size as it will sit on a small cupboard. I looked at a smaller HP laser too which looked great (sorry I have forgotten the model) but dismissed it because of the reviews.

Running a small mono HP printer at home and it works fine even though it’s USB and we have to plug the cable into our laptops. It’s cheap to run and still using the same cartridge I fitted 8 years ago. Now the wife wants a colour printer so looking for something that has a small footprint and cheap to use. What do you suggest?
-
Thanks for the help. I will probably remove the reader for testing and I had a quick look earlier when the fault was reported but there is a wooden sign glued right next to the reader blocking access to the screws! I have also reported the fault to Inventry so I expect they will want to sell us a new reader.
-
Our remote Inventry reader is not connecting. Anyone know how to fix it as so far it has been power cycled and connected to a different PoE switch but still the same? The main Inventry console is working fine.
-
@CleverInt yes I know what you mean and I was all in favour of having the QR badges but the HT dismissed it when the price was brought up which I didn’t think was that bad.
-
Thanks for all the replies. Wonde took a while to send the price which was £299 for the first year but the HT wants to make a really easy class logon so will have to hold on with the badges until they have tried it. Shame as I was getting excited at the thought of signing in by scanning a QR code.
-
After paying MyLogin for the extra service is it easy to add this to GSuite or do I need a third party?
-
So MyLogin can be used to bypass the chromebook logon just by scanning the badge? That would make things a lot easier.
-
I'm looking at how we can shorten logging on to chromebooks as it a primary and year 1 are having problems typing their username never mind their password. I have enabled autocomplete domain and shortened their username but year 1 takes ages finding the right keys. We are using GSuite and MyLogon so once logged in to the chromebook they can use MyLogin and have the option to either use emojis or scan a magic badge so really it's just the initial logging on to the chromebook I need to make easier. Any ideas?

Thanks I’ve sort of managed it but it’s a pain. First export a class password list as pdf then open pdf in MS word. Select and copy the table that contains the data and paste into excel. Save that as csv. Next open the csv in notepad or notepad++ and using search and replace remove any quotes. Save the file and open again in excel. Change the header as necessary.
-
Using Edusync and trying to get the logons shorter as it's a primary. Under custom naming we have used In the preview it is working correctly but now Edusync has imported it is nothing like correct as many new students are named Have we got the custom format wrong?
-
I am looking for a way to easily export the whole school user list from Accelerated Reader into Excel. I can already get a password list saved by class but that only outputs to a printer or a PDF whereas I need it in Excel and if possible I would like the list to contain first name, last name, username and class.
