  1. Update, I have now found the iPads have not been enrolled with Apple but they are using Jamf to deploy apps. The supplier said they can still be enrolled with Apple even though they were bought in 2021 which I thought was good. Will enrolment mean the iPads get wiped as soon as they are enrolled with Apple?
  2. My predecessor setup a bunch of iPads and although he used an MDM he also signed then in using used a shared Apple ID. Now I have teachers saying they are getting photos from other classes. When I disable the iCould photo sync I get a warning about deleting photos. Which option do I select? I'm guessing remove from iPad but do not want to delete needed photos. I want any photos that were taken on this iPad to stay on this iPad and photos taken on other iPads removed.
  3. I too have added connectivitycheck.android.com, connectivitycheck.gstatic.com and https://www.google.com/generate_204 to the filter exceptions but still getting the no internet message. Reading through the link that @Oaktech kindly posted I see references to FCM and needed open ports. Has anyone had success after opening them namely ports 5228-5230? https://firebase.google.com/docs/cloud-messaging/concept-options#messaging-ports-and-your-firewall
  4. Thanks, I see how it goes.
  5. We have a bought a new android mobile but we are having problems keeping it connected to the wifi. Each time we connect the mobile it says unable to access the internet. The mobile has a dhcp reservation and it has been assigned to the staff Netsweeper policy but nothing is being listed as blocked in the logs. Does android need any firewall ports opening as I'm guessing the logs I am looking at only cover http and https filter?
  6. Thanks but the BIOS is not locked out I just do not know what the password is. These machines were setup years ago and the person has left leaving a record of what the password is.
  7. Thanks, didn't think of that
  8. I'm in the middle of reimaging a bank of machines and they all have the BIOS passworded so unable I'm unable to access the boot menu until the BIOS is cleared. Should be easy enough but I've come across one machine that refusing to clear the BIOS. I've removed the battery and connected the jumper pins to clear the BIOS but the BIOS is still passworded. I've even left the machine overnight with the battery removed but still it comes up with the password prompt. Any ideas how to resolve this? All the machines are old Zoostorms. Thanks.
  9. That's great info, thanks.
  10. Having used Netsupport DNA for years I'm quite familiar with it but having recently moved to a new school and finding nothing in place in regards to monitoring I was thinking of deploying DNA here but understand there is a cloud version called Classroom.Cloud which I've never seen let alone used. Has anyone here used Classroom.Cloud? The school is Windows and Chromebooks. Thanks.
  11. We went with Sign-In App in the end and what a breath of fresh air it is after using Inventry for years only problem is now I’ve moved schools and guess what the new school has… yes Inventry! [emoji79]
  12. If I was a cynical person I would say because it makes it harder for the school to leave the MSP.
  13. Just has a laptop in and it needs sfc running but when I try to run a cmd as administrator I get the error The Extended Attributes Are Inconsistent Anyone know of a fix?
  14. So new to Clevertouch as used Promethean in my last school. Came in this morning to find a Clevertouch Pro screen not connecting to the PC. Do Clevertouch use a driver like Promethean do and if so what is it called and any download links? With Promethean the drivers sits in the system tray so you can calibrate or display it's version number.
  15. Slightly OT but I’ve found a couple of old servers in a stock room that the school had before the MSP wiped the domain. I don’t know if they will power up or what they are running, probably need server installing anyway so is [emoji638] VMs I can run on a host before I need extra licenses?
  16. Thanks everyone. I looked again and clicking the SSID name opened the settings where I could find all the info I needed. Silly me I just clicked the manage box and expected to find the info there! All servers bar 1 have been moved offsite by the old MSP, and they have had a couple in the last few years. The school is still paying the MSP to host the servers but the school's domain has been replaced by the MSP and is now part of the MSPs forest which makes moving away from the MSP a large job. The remaining onsite server is for or was for MDT and MDT is not working either. The files are there but nothing about MDT on the start menu or server manager so sadly I think it may have been uninstalled.
  17. I started a new school last week basically taking over from an MSP and I'm finding new horrors everyday like the guest wifi running on the domain network without VLANS. Today I'm looking at the unifi cloud key and see for the it is a CK2 and it is reporting a degrading disk and is at risk of failure, so I'm off to a great start already but to be fair the warning is only a month old. I've used unifi for a few years so familiar with it but that unifi was running on a VM and it looked slightly different to this cloud key which brings me to my questions. 1. The cloud key runs 22 APs mostly UAP AC LR but with a UAP AC Lite thrown in, 6 USW Pro 48 PoE switches and 2 cameras. I do not know how old the cloud key is so is it better to replace the failing drive or replace the cloud key altogether? I'm looking for the easiest option. 2. Where is the setting to change the wifi key? Unifi is running 3 SSIDs and I see them listed under settings / wifi but when I click manage the only option is to pause or remove the SSID. There was some talk that the MSP was going to install RADIUS but there's no sign of it but I'll still be checking the invoices. Thanks.
  18. Thanks everyone I’ll look tomorrow and as you can probably tell I’m new to Chromebooks 🤫
  19. We have Chromebooks that open 6 tabs on login some of which are outdated and need deleting but I'm struggling to find the setting to allow me to edit this. I've got as far as Devices / Chrome / Settings / Users & browsers / startup /Pages to load on startup. Under configuration it says 2 sub setting and under inheritance it says google default so I'm guessing if I can find the google default policy I can change it there but where are the policies stored? Thanks.
  20. Does WUfB work with all versions of windows or just the latest versions?
  21. It was just for the staff iPads really so iPads get the staff policy leaving the Chromebooks get the default policy.
  22. Thanks, that’s something to think about. I always thought Sophos was over complicated but I take it all back and I know it’s early days but it was so much easier with Sophos. Also, where do I find the logs on Netsweeper? It would be great to filter by blocked and not blocked requests.
  23. Moved to a school that uses Netsweeper that I’m totally unfamiliar with having previously used Sophos XGS. Windows devices are working fine and I can change policies based on AD group but the school also has Chromebooks used by students and iPads for staff. With Netsweeper can filtering be set based on MAC address? It would only be for iPads as Chromebooks would get the default policy.
  24. Been looking at this too and would anyone be willing to share their WUfB policies?
  25. Update: Parent View have changed captcha so it now asks simple maths questions. Tested it and works fine.
