@zag - which model of Intel SSD's do you get and how much are they roughly ?

see my post on your other post regards to not being able to eject your optical drive - if you are ok to buy the tools you require and get the relevant parts you could repair it yourself and get it working again seeing as this apple mac is over 4 years old so am guessing there is no apple care etc

With it being out of warranty from his comment ref it being 4 to 5 years old I very much doubt apple will do anything unless the OP is willing to spend money on an old iMac The other option is to look at how to take apart the imac in question and get replacement parts ie replacement hard drive and optical drive ( ensuring they are the correct type for said imac and that they will fit and work in said imac and then repair it him or herself you can use the likes of 1) iMac Repair - iFixit 2) Youtube - search on youtube with regards to repair or replace hard drive or repair and replace optical drive etc or whatever it is you want to replace / repair I think you can hold down certain keys ie eject or command and eject as it is trying to boot and that may make the cd eject, failing that may be able to use a paper clip to force the disc out.

you can find the correct image via google images --> save this, drag and drop the saved image onto google images and then edit the text in the search field so that it only searches the edugeek site so for the danbo robot avatar you leave the preview of the image and the text danbo robot in the search text field and after the danbo robot text put a space and site: www . edugeek . net excluding the spaces between the dots etc so it searches the edugeek site so you get something like below : I knew about being able to use images to search - totally not on the ball today, think I need a strong cuppa and some other things With no reply - Am thinking @VeryPC are trying to think of another way of doing this guess the winner ?

Is said member of staff attempting to get the USB Drive to work again so as to retrieve data off said USB Storage device whether it be a memory stick / external hard drive or whatever or are they just wanting to get the other USB Ports working again so they can use a new USB Memory stick or other USB Devices with said computer ? If they are attempting to get data off of the old memory stick then may be worth while trying said memory stick on another computer or two to see if they can retrieve data that way , if it prompts and states to format or erase the memory stick, click cancel and you may need to use data recovery software such as test disk / get data back / a number of other free ones ( which am sure other edugeek members can suggest. If it is just that you want to get the other USB Ports to work on the computer then I would say as per above , use device manager and remove all the USB HUBS and ROOT HUBS ( but only after removing the USB Device ie memory stick driver ( right click and un-install and should give you a tick box to delete the driver ) May be an idea to install the latest chipset drivers which will then need a reboot and it should re install all the USB HUB and USB ROOT HUB Devices after a reboot If it is windows 7 - windows 7 may re install these after a reboot anyway

You had a suggestion on the other thread with regards to making an image / clone of the original server that was running out of space on the C: Drive / partition and to image a 2nd server ( whether physical or virtual ) that has more space etc If there isn't anything else you can suggest / advise etc then just ignore me tagging you

As with all the other posts / comments about doing this ensure you have a good backup of the Server etc in case it goes sunny side up. Other option as per @nephilim's suggestion on one of those posts is to make a clone of the server ( image ) and restore that onto another server with a larger drive etc or into a vm with a larger partition ? Not sure if that is an option ?

Not attempted it but would it be possible to migrate the profiles to D and then remove F and get C to use up the space that F was using ? Just a thought ?? Also looks like you already have 115gb at the end of disk 0 ??

It just made sense as apposed to wasting bonus entries on people who are already maxed out and can pass on some bonus entries onto people who are not maxed out

External USB Mouse - problemo solved

I still prefer apples touch pads so magic trackpad or the ones on the mac book pro's as the gestures and using them just work /me being biased and all that lark

We have T440's and at first I thought they were pants but then after using the Lenovo system updater and installing the synaptics drivers and software realised it's more a config issue as once I configured the touchpad how I wanted it to work it was great and worked fine

As opposed to en-lightening !!
