Im aware of 1) Airserver 2) X-mirage 3) Reflector As per this article X-Mirage: The Simplest Way to Record Your iOS Apps in Action | Mac.AppStorm Which one is the better one , am thinking its between x-mirage and airserver. I have tried airserver but when I paused videos that were streaming so youtube after a while it was a pain to resume vs x-mirage which so far seems to be okay @Arthur or anyone else?

Mid range mbp and one of those. Why spend the additional £500 or more for a 700 series mobile gpu when your gonna get the additional kit to use a better gpu Yes your still correct ref being costly I was just replying to flyinghaggis ref the rubbish gpu It states you are better off not using an mbp with discrete gpu like the latest rMBP and that there are cheaper options

1) In the computer if you go into the bios does it show that the hard drive is connected - if not then maybe disconnect the hard drive / take it out and re - insert it firmly and try again. 2) If it shows up as above may be worth while trying to get into the windows pe enviroment whether you use another device with winpe on it or use F8 and select repair mode --> enter the bit locker key twice and then you can suspend bitlocker from within a command prompt window if you can get to the advanced repair tools , one of the clickable options is to open a command prompt If you do manage to get the machine to read the hard drive - it may be a good point or idea to backup any / as much of the data as possible before doing a check disk and then afterwards as well Once the check disk is done, it will also be worth while running diagnostics on the hard drive ( whether it is from the hard drive manufacturers website or the laptop / desktop manufactures website ie we use Lenovo here for laptops and they have a downloadadble ISO which is a diagnostic disc to test RAM / HDD etc Use that to see if there is a faulty hard drive, if so maybe claim for another one under warranty through the manufacturer of the computer As per @Arthur 's comment - you could also use an external drive caddy on another computer and it will see that it has bitlocker enabled and encrypted and it will prompt to enter in the bitlocker recovery key if it detects and can read the hard drive, if so enter that in ( copy and paste or manually type that in ) and then you can do a check disk however again I would say try and backup data first before putting the hard drive through a check disk

What sound card has it got installed, does it have any audio utilities by the likes of Conexant / RealTek or similar ? If so may need to adjust / tweak some settings within the audio utility to increase volume levels Also in control panel --> sounds or audio --> can you set the external headphones to be the default audio devices and configure them to increase volume levels or from the system tray click on the audio icon and click mixer options to ensure the volume levels are quite high and also not muted etc Are there any updated audio drivers that you could install ?

Thanks for the update - hopefully you get it sorted out with a re-image and putting the data back I presume all BIOS Settings still have the USB Ports enabled ?

Either 1) Do a system restore to a point ( date / time ) before she had the issue 2) Update the chipset drivers which should include the latest USB drivers etc 3) Re-image the machine ensuring to back up any data etc if required

Presume you are trying to establish if its the hard drive. ( if its a clicking / clunking / whirring noise ) or the power supply if its more a crackling noise or similar So either the hard drive is knackered with bad sectors and issues with the read / write heads or the power supply is faulty and not providing enough power Am guessing those are along the lines you are thinking of @Arthur

I thought I would try and make it a bit harder to find out who was who seeing as people now know about the google image search Have changed my avatar back for now just in case and can change it again later on if we are allowed to The rules stated that you ( @VeryPC ) still use the original avatar that people had ?
