  1. When the phone company offer you a new phone turn it down and ask for a cheaper contract. I am with T-Mobile and get 500 mins + 500txts 3gb (but it is not capped) for £10 per month
  2. Problem with the nexus 4 is they do not have micro sd support. I have 64gb sd card in my Galaxy II + the 12gb internal and I still want more. If it was me I would get the Galaxy S3 or 4 when it is out. The overlay and apps from Samsung are far superior to the HTC ones. I used to have a nexus and HTC Desire HD so have a good angle on it.
  3. I charge £40ph. I would stop what your doing and explain the situation to your client and explain how long it could take and how much you charge. Than if they agree you know where you stand.
  4. LearnPad - The Tablet Computer Designed for Education Have a look at Learnpad they look good for SEN and KS1
  5. I love the Google Music service. I was looking for a way to choose my fav music and create playlists that would be the same any device and Gmusic is great for this. EDIT: the tablet version is much better than the phone
  6. Think I have just worked out a way of doing what I asked in my post above. If I create a self signed cert and apply this to the default website in IIS, when connecting to the rds gateway using remote desktop connection I get an error that the gateway cert cannot be verified and I have no way to continue as I have no option to install the cert. The only way is to copy the proper gateway cert which is not self signed but a purchased cert and install it manually on the client. Does this sound ok or have I opened up some other back door in to the system?
  7. Is it possible to require a user has something else locally on the machine like a certificate. When setting RDS / gateway up I thought the user would have to have a certificate installed by a network admin on to the local computer but having played around it seems anyone can simply click install certificate at the certificate warning screen. Or have I not set thing up correctly?
  8. WOW can you. I have used that for ages on my phone.

  12. Also should have mentioned Google has apps and gadgets that can be added to your site and you can create quizzes or questionnaires with only a few clicks that will automatically build graphs & charts from the answers.
  13. Google Sites. Its free, already installed and used by small companies. I have it set up at 5 Primary schools. It also links in with picasa to automatically create slideshows. Can display any shared Google app such as a calender or document. Best of all it is very easy to use.

  15. What encryption level do I choose between FIPS or High? When searching, most posts say you should enable FIPS or High but do not pick one over the other. All clients are 7 pro and I have TLS set as the security layer.
  16. Should items like adobe be installed using the 'install app on terminal server method? Not sure what it really does under the hood.
  17. Could this be my final question? (probably not but hay ho) Installing Sims, should I, Click 'install app on terminal server' in control panel and let it do a full install including dependencies like .net, adobe or install the dependencies first and then click 'install app on terminal server' Does it make a difference?
  18. This is only for a few staff members who will always be using the laptop they have been assigned. Same number of users as devices.
  19. I also have an issue with child use but from another angle. I have young children and removed the kinect device as they are going through a phase of walking around the house without any clothes on. Does not mater how often you put the clothes on them, before you know it they have removed them. It did not sit well with me having them walk in front of a camera (kinect) switched on that is connected to a device which is connected to the internet.
  20. it was select licence. Next question is - user or device licencing. After reading info on MS site I am leaning towards user licencing but never having used this in the real world I would appreciate your advice.
  21. OK. Think it will probably be Select but have just sent an email asking. Thanks for your help.

  23. I am following this, Configuring a Windows Server 2008 R2 Remote Desktop Services License Server - Techotopia Which seems to suggest I need the long number. Do you have any other info I can follow, the MS site is overly complicated.
  24. I am looking at licencing and trying to find the simplest method of doing this. I have purchased some Remote Desktop Services CALs from a our LA and thought the key would be similar to a windows key ie, xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx xxxx but the license I have been given is xxxxxxx is that correct before I proceed?
