i have 2 hyper v servers connected to 1 iscsi nas im starting to get ntfs errors on my nas. has anyone else came across this issue and why would i be getting ntfs errors could it be how the data is writing back to nas ?? all i know is that last time we had an issue it got very mess very quick and using programs like get data back ntfs is not good (kicks oneself) and had to do a chkdsk can’t remember the other switch but it worked and we got access to the volume again. but i would like to know how other people have setup their servers / nas or san and i just want to check am i doing this right the end result we are going for a is a fail over server cluster but at the moment is what we have done 2 servers connected over to and iscsi nas or should i using a nfs ?

I know you can name computers with an answer file etc but let’s say you image a pc and it names it exactly what it should be is it me or is this some sort of feature of windows deployment server ?

can someone just shed any light on this Do we need to PAT Test our equipment after we have repaired a component inside it or be PAT certfied to repair a PC give the fact that the PSU volatage changes from 240v to 12v just trying to get some ammo

Ok well I took my exam and failed I got 754 on the network infrastructure and 478 on active directory. And what a pain in the back side at one point I thought I was going to faint because some of the questions I just had no idea. and in some ways am glad I failed because only went on my own info and did a brief skim of the upgrade book. I did find it strange when they split the exam e.g time remaining felt I had less time even though it said 3 hours Sort of feel I should of have taken the infrastructure exam on its own

i have had a qoute but tide in till next year with lea but the 100mbit line 1:1 is a good price pritty much the same as what paying now even 1GB line is worth a look into but see what happens next year i guess

what do people use for their wireless infrastructure , how well does it perform, what would you change about it

humm we are having the same problems but also we are having an issue where pupils try and go to their N:\ Drive and then get a access denied even though they have access to the folder i have to set the owner of the my documents (the one win7 creates) to the administrators group in order to view the ntfs permissions and we use the folder redirect as well I wish ms never changed the way they stored users settings why change it i think it was perfect the way it was

For some reason or another we are getting an error which can only be resolved by a reboot. What happens is the teacher logs in to the computer (windows 7) opens sims and then gets presented with this error and you have to reboot in order for it to go away. Now I’m not sure if its a general trust issue with the computer account with the domain or just an issue with the sql server but staff can access e-mails and resources perfectly fine just on the odd day when they come into work and open sims Any ideas?

Have heard that when moving over to exchange 2010 the database can suddenly expand?? Has any one came accross this also any recommendations for hardware 1300+ Pupils plus teacher

yea we scan for adaware but sophos is stupid and wont remove it have to do it my self

Im not sure if some of you the product or not but I think its really naff how ever for the time being i need to work with what i have got how can i get sophos to remove adaware or do some of you use other programs to remove this

Hi we have around 100 - 150 members of staff thats if my memory serves me right. Deploying SOLUS3 isn’t that hard really you basically tell the server 1) Where your SIMS / FMS / Doc store 2) Tell it where your setups directory is 3) tell it where you’re FMS / connect.ini is Once you have done all of that you can either do a whole mass install of the client or 2 install the client bit by bit. But like with any software at first it can be tricky also you need make sure that if you use wds or similar process you can’t install the client along with that image. If you want any more questions then I’m happy to put you in touch with my data manager. But it does make our lives a lot easier in deploying updates

it has been some time now since we moved over to our new dc server which are 2008 r2 everything is running fine etc. now i need to decide on whether move the function level to 2008r2 but my only concern is my exchange 2007 server it is running SP3 but i would like some advice to see if any people have had any issue when they have moved over thanks

no the windows 7 are just 32bit and yea the windows xp clients 32 bit work ok it’s just the windows 7 32bit clients having issues with we don’t have any 64bit 7 ones. With the caching how and why would office be trying to look at the server also it does say unable to open the (normal.dot / normal.dotm file??) but we have move that to the c:\ and that error doesn’t come up any more just crashing

yea staff can logon at home using their normal usernames and passwords but this does not affect window xp users. are you saying i shouldnt let them have cache profiles cus if we do that they wont be able to logon at home

at the moment multiple but when you creat a local logon all works ok

what changes did you make for the gp also do you have windows automatically install windows updates
