We currently have ISA2006 with single sign on and I was looking at maybe replacing it with SW as I know a lot of people on here tend to talk about it And I wanted to know if I did go ahead and replaced our old ISA box would SW meet our needs As we use web publishing rules with ISA and when ssl certs run out I have to update them on the ISA box Would SW be the same? and plus be nice to remove the old hardware

We use the room booking feature and its really good because you have allocate not onlt the rooms from sims (timetable) but you setup resources e.g. let staff book video cams / digi cams and we get notifications And because we have in the region of over 700 computers including laptops we set the system up so that the science technician gets alerts for when science teachers want the laptops in there lessons And it stops double booking And stops alot of hassle I love it lol

Hey guys sorry to throw a spanner in the works and this applies to me as well we had a data protection official from our local authority in a few weeks back and it was basically a information gathering session between me and our bm and one of the topics that came up was how do you make sure that when members of staff at home are given the potential of access to the system how do you stop people from shoulder looking etc/ leaving the application open to preying eyes etc when they are /not infront of the their system when at home. And you know what I most produced a brick lol but you cant and the thing is yes its ok to open the system up to let staff have access to sims from home but remember they have to understand the consequences if sensitive information is leaked Just something to think about

Im going to speak to virgin media tomorrow and see if they have any idea. We get no block page or anything however images do come up on a normal search result. -
Student / staff monitoring - what do you use ?
kevin_lane replied to jamin100's topic in Network and Classroom Management
We were one of the beta testers been using there product ever since we have over 1300 kids brilliant to monitor plus you can setup groups try it -
Basically its an enhanced version of calcs quite good if you want to set permissions on a very granular level
-
Yea sounds like you have some weird setup as we have uac turned off and a bunch of policies set in place and they have mandatory profiles too we also have it set that every time a computer boots up and logs off delprof2 is ran and all profiles get deleted I dont see the point in giving them access to cmd ok maybe useful to you but if they know what they are doing and the students are clear enough they could do damage e.g first point of attack is to gather data about the network and that can be done with cmd by using a net view command will give you a list of computers on the work and I know these are just kids but should still be savvy and not leave holes open. also aslong as ur students are just domain users then not alot they can do. I would creating a test ou and practice on how to use gp and secure the systems And as for uac well nice feature but can over kill esp if you need a driver installing

We have 3 hosts 2k8r2 in a cluster with a storage works server Im looking at moving them over to a 2k12r2 cluster but I dont have the servers expect one but not enough memory The only thing I can think of is to make this server I have which had vmm on into a 2k12r2 and uncluster 1 of the 3 hosts and enable iscsi to a nas box and export the vms and then import them into the new cluster on the new 2k12r2 server but only export the least important ones Any thoughts

no I think its real I don't think you could fake this
