Hi all, Hope you are well. Odd one, when teachers open PowerPoints in M365 and select Start Slideshow the text changes from English to a different language, not sure which. If we download the slideshow to the PC it is fine. Any ideas? Thanks

We have installed the SayHi language app on a set of iPads for our EAL students, but when they try to use it, it says 'Sorry we don't understand' or something like that (not at the school today so can't check). Does anyone know if there are any specific firewall rules to allow this to work? Went onto the SayHi website, they said to contact them, but then I had an email saying due to the volume of support emails, they may not answer my question. Thanks

Hi all, Hope you are well. At two of the schools I look after I need to move Salto door access system onto a new VM. One is on a standalone PC and the other is on a VM that is playing up and I can't do anything with. Does anyone know if its just a case of making a backup of the Salto DB, installing Salto on the new VMs and importing the DB, then setting the same IP address on the new VMs as the old one? Thanks.

Thanks. I recreated the new certificate, as wasn't 100% sure I had told it to request new certificate with same key. Added that to the NPS policy and it came back up. Thanks for the replies all.

Thanks, yeah they are windows machines. I can see anywhere in GPO that the previous certs were distributed. They have a certificate authority setup on one of the DCs. But can't see how it is distributed.

Hi all Hope you are well. One of the schools I work for lost access to their main devices wireless. After some looking around I noticed the NPS server certificate had expired. I have renewed it by right click - request new certificate with same key. But they are still not able to connect. Do I need to distribute the new key to the clients, if so how do I do that? Is that in GPO or AD? Thanks

Hi all, Hope you are well. Is anyone else having issues buying apps through Apple School Manager? One of the schools I work at is trying to buy some apps, but when finance are trying the purchase them with a credit card, they get a window ' Contacting Card Issuer for Authentication', but nothing else happens. It just stays there. We have tried it at different locations I even tried it at home to ensure that a firewall wasn't causing issues. We contacted Apple, who just said that they couldn't assist with Payment issues. I have checked and there are a few posts/articles about this issue, but they all say to use Paypal. Does anyone know if you can pay with Paypal on ASM? Thanks

Our backups have been working well, but all of a sudden in the last week, we have been getting errors on the rotated backup copy. 01/05/2023 10:30:57 :: Failed to perform backup file verification Error: Failed to wait for read operation to complete. Agent failed to process method {Signature.FullRecheckBackup}. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi, when you say push, do you use the non install method, so they access it from a share, or do you install it on each client? If the non install method then it will automatically do this after the upgrade. If you install it on each client, then it will need updating.

Hi all, thanks for the advice, did this last night on the sharp printers and it updated the server and printer flawlessly. Just need to do this at the other school now with Konica Minolta printers. Hopefully it will be as easy.

Hi all, Hope you are well. I have been asked to install Cakewalk from Bandlab by the music dept. But from what I can see, their is a free educational online version for Bandlab. Is Cakewalk needed or am I missing something? Thanks

Its a major version upgrade for both schools, so should be interesting. The one school papercut is on a vm the other schools its not.

Thanks found the setting to allow Hyper-V manager in User Configuration - Admin Templates - Windows Components - Microsoft Management Console - Restrict Users to the explicitly permitted list of snap-ins, setting this to Not Configured then going through the snap-ins and blocking the rest worked well. I have managed to get the IT department to only have it in one room. Short of making 2 student groups - Hyper-Vuser and NonHyper-VUsers so that I can limit access, there is no way to block access to Hyper-V for any other users is there? Nothing like item level targeting so that I can say only a student that is also a member of HyperVuser can access it? Thanks
