For composer on SnipeIT it is blocked by the schools firewall and I don't have access to it, or at the moment can't request that it is unblocked. Is there a way to install composer without the internet?

Hi all, hope you are well. I know this has been discussed numerous times, a few of them by me. But I am still umming and arrring about the right IT asset management system for my schools. I have tried SnipeIT which I love, especially the look of it, checking out to people, the ability to attach documents (the staff laptop signing form) and the bulk audit ability, but as I am on my own I really need it to have automated discovery for Windows machines, but could not get this to work properly and I really don't have the time to play with it too much to get it to work. I am currently using GLPI, which has the Windows agent and is very good and I do like it, but I keep looking back at SnipeIT. Feels like being in a relationship with somebody (SnipeIT), that was almost perfect but not quite. You leave them for somebody else (GLPI) and you are perfectly happy, but you keep looking back at the other person wondering if you made the right decision. What do others use or recommend? Do you have SnipeIT setup with automated IT discovery working? Are there any guides to get that working? For me Spiceworks, was my happy medium, but unfortunately they have stopped the self-hosted version.

@JRA Hiya, yeah it would not work for us at all. No matter how many time we tried and the number of cards. Like you, Apple claimed the issue was with us. We ended up buying Apple credit off Academia for the value we needed, they sent us a code and we added that to ASM. A lot less painful process.

Hi all, Thanks for the help. Looks like it was user error. Computers being imaged, updated, then turned off. Then new computer being imaged with same name.

Is there a way to check for duplicate names with different SIDs or mac addresses, through powershell etc?

Hi all, Happy Friday. Don't know if anyone can help with this, we are getting a weird issue with some new laptops we have brought, we image them and set them up fine, but after a short time with the teacher, they get the "Trust Relationship Between This Workstation And The Primary Domain Failed" error. With a short time I mean hours not days. I am getting the technician at the school to try a old laptop to see if the issue rears its head. All existing PCs and laptops seem fine though. I did notice that DHCP had a lot of duplicate records (name and IP addresses) and DNS held stale records back to 2017. I have cleaned these up, so not sure if that was part of the cause. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

@psydii Hi, thanks for that. I have checked and the Sharepoint site timezone was on UTC-8 US and Canada. Ill explain to the teachers that they either use the UI or the document library not both. Thanks again.

Hiya all, Hope you are well. Having a weird thing of student files going missing in Teams. When I check in sharepoint recycle bin, I can find the file and it says deleted by Sharepoint app. There have been files deleted at 3am, so can't imagine this is somebody doing this. Any ideas? Many thanks

Hi all, Hope you are well. We have started seeing Adobe CC error 1010 when anybody tries to login. The error talks about licensing issues, but we are licensed till November. I have found some information online talking about credential manager. So I have disabled Network Access: Do not allow storage of passwords and credentials for network authentication for that room, as Adobe needs that, but the issue is still there. Any ideas?

Hi all, Hope you are well I am looking for an asset management system that will allow me to note the last physical inventory of the asset, but also create reports that will include the item, type, serial number and last physical inventory to give to auditors each year. I am currently playing with SnipeIT and the PS scripts for it, but having some issues. Are there any others that can be recommended? I went to get Spiceworks installed again, as that did everything, but realised that it is now cloud only. When did this happen?

Hi all, having another weird thing, with the automation script. Even though I manually entered the models for the devices, it is generating duplicate models but not linking anything to them. Problem is with the duplicate models, it is causing the script to error and not run. When I remove the duplicates and run the script manually it works, but then the duplicates get generated again and it stops working..... Any ideas?

Hmmmm.... doesn't seem to work for me that way for me. Mind you we are using Sophos firewall with AD sync, and with it downloading the API wrapper etc. It might be that.

Ok ignore the previous post seemed to be an issue with the Asset Models. Now though each model is being created as a Monitor. Any ideas? - Found I just needed to change the category numbers...... I am going home.
