Open the image up and check the winnt.sif in the i386 folder and add the key to that if it's not already there. It uses that as a default if there arent any other external answer files.

Nagios is the route you want to go down. Not only will it tell you if hosts are up or down, it can tell you what ever information they want to share via SNMP such as the printer is out of paper or has a paer jam or there is only 5 gig left on the C: drive of your server. Well worth the effort and there are plenty of threads about and people willing to help with the setup. I am just about to put in a dedicated screen for it as well for the overview so if anything goes orange or red its time to spring into action!

To help you learn get a copy of VMware or Virtual PC and a decent workstation with plenty of RAM. You can then load server 2003 or 2008 on them and start learning. Get the basics running then go from there. Courses dont come cheap but I am sure they will spring for some books. Mastering Server 2003 by Mark Minasi is a great book to start with and there is an update edition as well for that. Even if you go with 2008 the book will teach you a lot about the general basics of the server systems.

The condition on the whole is very good. They just have normal signs of wear. If they are any worse then you are told. Some stuff does look fairly new as it wont have been used for very long.

I have mine fully automated at the end of a RIS build with a log on. I seperated alll the seperate programs and made answer files for them. I use a reg import to sort the key but you must run flash first for it to work. Using the same method you can use an MSI wrapper to install them as well I believe. I am sure theres an old post around here somewhere about it.

You were installing onto 32 or 64 bit?

I have had plenty of stuff from them and any problems are quickly sorted. I also work close enough to go check out the merchandise as well which is even better .

There are plenty of awkward programs like this. I have a start up script that runs cacls and adjusts the permissions. In your case maybe a if not exists then copy x and y blah blah as well to make suure the files are in place.

I have noticed there are some termnal server settings tab on my AB tutor. AB tutor allows you to log applications and web sites visited for each machine. Not sure how well it works in practice for a terminal server setup but a single licence for the control software (as many clients as you want) would only set you back about £150 or something like that. If you buy more they drop to £100 ish.

This can be a problem with some of the SIS chip sets. Have you tried running a shorter version of the script? Once you do get it working as well you could shorten that script a lot using some kind of loop as you are repeating the same code over and over.
