Eh if they want to act like that I would implore BT to remove all telephone/broadband/modern services and open up a local telegraphers, it will be in keeping with the rest of the local village in aesthetics and attitudes. I would agree if the sample was evenly distributed throughout all areas of the country and all age groups. But as it stands these statistics are not gathered in that way. You have to sign up yourself and then they send you surveys for you to fill in. So unless you go out of your way to contribute you aren't considered. So this is the demographics based upon those people who actively participate in surveys, not demographics based on the entire population of the UK. Two completely different samples, which do not necessarily have any similarities and cannot be said to be representative of the entire population.

It's really a case of what you need, as above. You might like the idea of ZHO, but unless you actually have a practical need for it, such as roaming voip phones then you simply don't need it. I would encourage you to use the pros however, AC is still changing and there are only a few clients that support it, and again very few that actually need it. Unifi is cheap enough that if you need to upgrade to AC in the future you can probably afford to do so, plus you can do it basically at your leisure replacing one or two points a year.

If you plan on using HP PoE switches, you need to make sure you are buying the right Access Points as some are not 802.3af compliant (specifically the Standard, LR and UniFi AP-Outdoor 5G are not). Those that aren't do use PoE but it's 12-24v.

You should take that report with a large pinch of salt since they only use Mac devices and it is primarily iPads they tested. Apple of course well known for adhering to wireless standards perfectly. In practice you will find that Ubiquity Unifi gives you brilliant value for money, we have a 20 AP set up which uses WPA2 Enterprise and Radius and supports around 150 clients at any given time. I don't personally believe that 1, 2 or 3 are as big an issue as localzuk is making out. As with all things you should evaluate what you actually need, if it's a simple wireless system that works, is easy to set up and requires basically no on going maintenance then Unifi may be for you. If you need something sophisticated to solve a specific issue then you may need to look elsewhere. After that it's a case of how much money you want to spend.

I cannot support Ubiquiti Unifi enough, they are perfect for education. No rolling costs, no hardware controller, a good quality product for the money. The standard access point is about £45, and the Pro £140, I would recommend the Pro if your budget will stretch as it features a 1Gbps ethernet port and is 802.3af compliant.

If you are receiving a very low connection speed (6Mbps is very low for Sky's Fibre package, though I just noticed your downspeed is connected at 25457Kbps, or 25Mbps which seems reasonable) then you just need to get in contact with Sky and they will perform a line test, or retrain the line. The biggest probably that you are likely to encounter however is BT Openreach coming and breaking something while working on someone else's connection. I was disconnected for 6 weeks when they decided to unplug me from the fibre board in the box outside to give it to someone else to fix their problem, only by doing so they somehow inexplicably ran out of points on the board, so they had to wait to install an additional board before I could be reconnected. Sky were as apologetic as they could be and refunded me for the time I was disconnected me and gave me a discount for 6 months afterwards. This sort of problem has happened to me three times, though it's normally resolved in a couple of days and is entirely down to incompetence by BT Openreach.

You should get on that, certainly take skinning at least if you just want to make some gold, skin any beast after you kill them. Doesn't take up hardly any extra time. Just go to your races hub and ask a guard for the profession trainer that you are interested in. I didn't know this!

Since lookups basically search through physical database files the bottleneck would be disc read speed, so I guess 2 SSDs in RAID 1, or 4 in RAID 10 if you want that level of redundancy would be the most optimal. The processors probably won't help as much as you would think, don't skimp by any means, but you don't really need to go overboard. The main bottle neck isn't hardware really, though the higher the spec the faster it will go to a point. Because the reports are done manually, you will find that people inserting large amounts of data into the database, or extremely complex queries, will actually block lookups for other people. It's not easily avoidable, we are moving the database to a separate server which is dedicated to our sql databases. What I think is extremely strange in Sims' design is the fact that all the client does is connect straight to the database. This causes numerous problems and what they need to do is have it connect to a Sims software server. That could then optimise and group queries and inserts to improve performance. But other than that they really need to do reporting correctly.

Not very long, a few days/a week. It's a relatively simple process, and around Christmas time they will be rolling this out for staff too.

Do you have any programming experience? It's relatively simple to create a program that queries LDAP for first name and surname and then open the associated home drive.
