Oh no I know Speech Recognition and controls have been in for a long time, but Cortana isn't just that thanks to the Bing integration, so unless they do something extremely useful or interesting with it then I see no reason for people to go out and buy a microphone for it.

I was half expecting this thanks to the Xbox One and Kinnect, I wonder what the default setting will be for that, on or off and what the battery life impact will be. Regardless for PC it's still entirely useless unless you have a microphone, I guess we will have to wait and see in spring what they will do with it.

Couldn't you just use diffusers to solve the single point problem? Alternatively encourage staff not to stare at the lighting rig during assemblies!

Ah well, interesting to see them do it with the 3d modeling and all. Curious how much the electric bill was to do all of that though, substantially more than the value of the model no doubt.

I like the look and feel, you have kept it relatively simple which in my view is becoming increasingly important. A minor complaint would be that I'm not really keen on the underline that happens when you mouse over a menu.

Sorry, have no experience with LED lighting myself so can't comment on that, but you use your stage lighting for assemblies? Is there a specific reason for that? Seems generally wasteful whether you're using traditional lighting or LED lighting.

It's not really suited to PC, not everyone has a microphone plugged in for starters and as you say unless it's always on, which isn't the way it works on Windows Phone it would be a bit of an inconvenience. It's just due to the One OS model they are going for, it will be useful on Xbox One, Windows Phone, Tablets and Smart TVs if they ever go that route.

Cortana is a Windows Phone 8.1 feature which is effectively Apple's Siri rebranded and powered by Bing, so naturally it's useless (Not that Siri is much better mind you). It seems they are planning on integrating it into Windows 10, which makes sense as it will be the same operating system on all devices.

I didn't really mention security, I'm just personally not worried about it. Provided the Gov act quickly then we have no real reason to be concerned. In IT I suppose this would be similar to storing your data in the cloud and hoping that a destructive virus never gets into the platform, I wouldn't be too worried about it personally as it's a secure platform, but in the event that a destructive virus penetrated similar platforms I would expect the one my data is in to act quickly to ensure it doesn't effect my data. Beyond that what can I do myself? Well, the key to infection control is good hygiene and disposal of potentially contaminated items of clothing. So other than washing my hands every few minutes, and burning all my clothes every day there isn't alot more I can do, unless I became a recluse living in the woods.

I'm not that worried to be honest, Island nation after all. I am of course assuming the Gov. will act in swiftly if things do start to become out of hand in America/Europe, but it's still early days yet.

Effectively everyone using the latest chrome and OWA are effected. It also effects a one or two administrative areas of O365. There's not a lot that can be done from an external point of view, internally you can use an updated GPO from Google to force modals back on, and in the long term Microsoft/Other will be forced to release fixes where they feel its appropriate. Not pleased, to be honest.

You can do it, I have tried linking my OneDrive as a network location as a test. It isn't too bad when navigating folder structures, but it struggles with basic things like making new folders, I really wouldn't recommend it. You would have problems with large files, be that working on them or saving them as you would need to download/upload them every time. Obviously as others have said you would need a very fast connection for this to be even remotely feasible. The obviously solution would be to try and create a script to do a sync between a local file store and the OneDrive, but you will struggle a great deal with authentication I would imagine. Edit: I should mention that in my brief test to map a OneDrive as a network location, in order to authenticate you must use Internet Explorer to login to O365 before you can access it, so not practical really. You could probably use powershell to get around it but I didn't pursue it.

It's by no means Pirelli's fault, they have to decide the tyre choice in advance and they hadn't finished the track surface by that time, so they had to make a decision and used the data from COTA's first year as an indicator. I think they will have to widen the pit entry too, I think it's pretty bad design that they couldn't spare 1/2 meters of track to make the pit entry more sensible.

Found the race to be a bit dull personally, the tyre's were the main problem in my view, a Sauber managed 40 laps on the Soft tyre which says it all really. The circuit itself wasn't very spectacular either (Turn 3 being the only real highlight), similar to Valencia. Unfortunately given the amount of money they are paying for this race we are going to have to endure it for a long time to come.

Well yeah but that doesn't require sending anything, the school can just be asked to add that if that's what they want. Though the same is true of SPF and MX records, I really have no explanation for why you are being asked to send them anything @SimpleSi.

If I take off my sensible hat for a moment, I would blow the lot on following the F1 paddock around, stay in the best hotels, spend time in the garages, that sort of thing.

The market pays what the market pays. My 2 bed flat was bought for 80k had a new kitchen and bathroom put in and I could get about £600pcm, the 1 beds in the same complex go for about £62k and £450pcm. It's a nice complex too and has some of the largest grounds in Cheshire.

I would buy property for cash and then rent it for an income. Super dull but it would pay more than I get now so that's something at least.

It couldn't be in order to add SPF records and modify the MX could it? If the website's domain is also the same as the email's then you would ideally need to add an SPF record, and point the MX records to office 365. Again this entirely depends on how your system worked in the first place.

DA is for allowing access to your network from domain connected clients which are offsite. Not anyone who has access to the internet. So the likelihood is that they will be running Enterprise. I suspect they surveyed Small and Medium businesses and found it not to be utilised and decided not to include it in Professional, perhaps in order to boost/as a result of the cloud solutions they are running with now. Having said that they may put it back in given how early this preview is.
