I agree. A HTML 5 replacement for remote desktop which offers an enhanced user experience for customers. For partners it has same 3rd party connector model (TPC) but ESS are working on improvements to enhance TPC performance.

[bromcom] SIMS to Bromcom User defined fields & linked documents migration
NickBryson replied to Jaan's topic in MIS Systems
Bromcom Support surely you should not be advocating use of the UPN for matching ? -
[bromcom] SIMS to Bromcom User defined fields & linked documents migration
NickBryson replied to Jaan's topic in MIS Systems
I tried something similar as ajp suggests and it was a disaster with mismatched records and time intensive. I then tried Recordlink - RecordLink eXport and worked like a dream. Very easy, quick and avoids using the UPN which is frowned upon. -
[sims] Capita is trying to sell off non-core businesses (SIMS is for sale)
NickBryson replied to psydii's topic in MIS Systems
What is the source of your information - can you tell us more ? I haven't seen any public facing comments from Montagu. -
I have done this. First thing, use RecordLink export to extract and rename all linked docs. Although the processing will take a while if it's a large extraction setting it up to run takes only a minute. Once that has run, the documents have sensible filenames (concatenated from the meta data). The documents for each student are in a named folder per pupil on a network drive. On the conversion to pdf issue - why do you need it ?

Procurement of MIS Systems - Dispelling a few myths
NickBryson replied to NotAGeek's topic in MIS Systems
This post would be so much more helpful if you were to give your contact details and the LA team you lead. If not then perhaps clarify why you wish to remain anonymous. Thank you.- 37 replies

can anyone advise on where to find the current version of the SIMS roadmap. Not the Technical roadmap but the product one.
-
It will probably depend on the type of school you are and the third party system being used - can you tell us ?

[sims] Capita is trying to sell off non-core businesses (SIMS is for sale)
NickBryson replied to psydii's topic in MIS Systems
Phil surely the sale includes FMS but not SIMS Finance as the underlying product is from a part of Capita outside ESS ? -

we are considering moving to a VLE supplier who uses the VLE Export function in SIMS to export data on a regular basis. Before we go any further I would like to better understand which other Learning Platforms or products use this method of exporting data and how reliable it is. If it's in common usage and 1000s of schools depend on it it might put my mind at rest. If anyone has any documentation they might share I would be grateful. ta. Nick.
