  1. Exactly as above! It's only recently been the case though that admin staff have had some sort of basic test to show they can do basic admin tasks during the interview process.
  2. Is there a TKMaxx near you? They normally have shirts in a variety of collar sizes / fits that are suitable. Failing that try Debenhams - that's where I got a good "wedding shirt" from last year and I'm not slim either!
  3. My wife and I were discussing the public information films that used to be shown many years ago, whatever happened to them? I still remember "Only a fool breaks the two second rule" even though I couldn't drive at the time it was shown. If some of those were revived it wouldn't stop all accidents but at least it might reduce the number.
  4. I tend to buy Clarks but from Brantanos at the moment as I find them very comfortable (Hook Toughs current pair) but the last couple of pairs seemed to wear very easily on the soles such that they only lasted about a term! Wasn't too bothered as they were on offer at £25 but this time I'll not be happy if it happens as I paid £45. The best ones I had previously were jockey boots from Hush Puppies. They were really tough, really comfortable and the soles lasted well over a year.
  5. We've used PRM Green at least three times now, very impressed with them.
  6. We have the same as @Achandler above, so assuming you are doing that- 1) Share permissions on root set to All Staff Full Control (remove Everyone access) 2) NTFS permissions on root set to All Staff Read & Execute 3) NTFS permissions on each department's folder set to Modify for that specific department
  7. We used the Script via GPO method as outlined in this thread. http://www.edugeek.net/forums/networks/76186-deploying-net-framework-4-a.html
  8. Unintended pun or comedy genius?
  9. My two favourite books ever (read multiple times!) are The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas and Shogun by James Clavell althoug at £4.59 Shogun is maybe a bit expensive.
  10. I'd try this - 1) Export a list of usernames from AD to a text file 2) Write a script which: a) maps drive Y: to \\hosea\d$\users\students\ b) maps drive Z: to \\Server2\userbackup\Year11\ c) Reads in username from text file d) Creates new folder Z:\username e) Robocopy Y:\username to Z:\username such that it moves the data
  11. There were quite a few sly comments over the weekend, including Martin Brundle making some comment about some drivers being behind them in the queue at the job centre at the end of the year!

    OOO

I'm not at work and there's no way I'm checking emails whilst on holiday
  13. +1 to both of the above!
  14. There's been rumblings for months about the BBC not paying to cover F1 next year as their contract was up for renewal and they wanted to ditch it to save money.
  15. Will they also be doing what ITV used to, i.e. putting in adverts during the race including on one occasion four laps from the end? I don't have Sky and can't see me forking out for it either.
  16. I've just had a look at the menu and now I want to head towards Leicester rather than home right now to get a steak!
  17. We can't have a dog at the moment as my wife doesn't work just around the corner anymore and we don't like the idea of leaving one all day. We both keep looking on the website for the local dog rescue though!
  18. Create a shutdown VBS script with the following in: Set objFSO = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject") If objFSO.FileExists("C:\Program Files\Google\Google Earth\client\res\flightsim\flightsim.ini") Then objFSO.DeleteFile("C:\Program Files\Google\Google Earth\client\res\flightsim\flightsim.ini") End If
  19. We're using SCO Pay from Tucasi. At the moment it is having major problems linking to Cunningham's system to the extent that we have been forced to put a message on our website asking parents not to use it until it is resolved.
  20. Every year I think "#expletive# missed it again!" usually it's because of some family thing but this year I just completely forgot.
  21. Definitely, especially with his deadpan delivery! See that old woman over there? That's your girlfriend that is!
  22. Thanks! Any link I tried from work just directed me to an error page on Adobe's website.
  23. Does anyone out there have a copy of reset_fp10.zip that they can send me or provide a link to? I'm having a problem with Flash Player (no surprise there) specifically that it can't register an ActiveX control. According to Adobe's website I need to download reset_fp10.zip and extract the reset_fp10.cmd file but the link to the Zip file doesn't work. Other download links I have found seem to link straight back to the same Adobe page!!!!
  24. Is there nobody there who can carry out a formal desk assessment? This should look at the height and positioning of your chair, height and positioning of your monitor, whether you need a footrest, desk space, etc. Also the Local Council should have an Occupational Therapist that can advise about mice, wrist supports, etc.
  25. He probably can't but "needed it". I know several people that moan they are struggling to make ends meet (genuinely so) but somehow manage to find enough money for a new iPhone. Some of them can't even see the contradiction in telling you they've had to borrow money from relatives to pay for rent, food, car repairs, etc. then 2 minutes later mention the new iPhone they have just got.
