Hi Sukh, Thanks for coming back to me. 1. We do not have FPE 2010 running on our exchange server. 2. Sam Learning is essentially a revision based website (almost like a vle type thing) where you can assign homeworks to groups of students, who can then logon complete etc. Each month a report is being sent into us showing details of the set tasks, this si the file which appears to be being stripped. They must have their own email server, although I cannot say what they use. I do know that the attachment is present when it hits the council's redirect and they aren't stripping it out, so it has to be something on our exchange box. 3. I've no idea on this. 4. We do have AV running on exchange - Sophos 5. I've checked OWA, and there doesn't seem to be an attachment on there either. In Outlook itself there is no paperclip icon either to suggest that there should be an attachment.

Not sure where to put this, so here goes :-) We're running Exchange 2007 on Server 2008 and we seem to be having a problem with certain email coming through. The only bit of the email we see is as the title of this thread suggests "MIME_ATTACHMENT_STRIPPED". Now the only emails that this seems to apply to is any email we receive from Sam Learning with usage reports attached. Apparently all usage reports come through as PDF files, and we have had SAM Learning send us through test reports which come through fine, yet the automatically generated ones all seem to get stripped out of the email. I've spoken to the council as well, and they can see the email coming through and the attachments but as far as they're are concerned the email is being passed onto us as expected, therefore the problem must lie with us..... Hopefully someone has come across this before and will be able to help :-) Thanks in advance Iain

Have you heard of a product called Gyromouse? I've bought these in the past and although not cheap (although I don't think they were £85) the range on them is incredible.
-
I've just started doing "Parkrun" at my local park. Only 5km each time but I enjoy doing it.
-
It's the same in our house as well, but in fairness my other half is a Teacher so it's not often I want to hear about the lessons she's been teaching :-) although having said that she does come in handy when pitching ideas for our school :-)
-
Will you be expected to use your car to get to the primary school you will be supporting? If so don't forget to upgrade your insurance to cover business usage as well. Plus, as has been said, will they be covering your costs?

Apologies, the product is called Ecopy. and to be fair it is a good product, it's just unfortunate there's a lack of trust from our staff.
-
We have the canon version of this facility installed onto our photocopiers. Unfortunately we've had 6 months of wrangling to get it working and the end result is that our staff don't trust it and as such it sits unused. It is a shame though, as having done some testing myself it does work and works well now Canon have ironed out the issues we'd been experiencing, it does what it says on the tin.

Guidelines for Projector Quality
Iain.Faulkner replied to Iain.Faulkner's topic in AV and Multimedia Related
Hi all, Thanks for the replies....think I've not got my message across particularly clearly. We have a number of aging projectors which are beginning to lose quality to the extent that the rooms have to be in near total darkness to allow people to see the image clearly and I'm trying to justify having the projectors replaced (the bulbs cost as much as a new projector so it makes more sense to buy new). Are there guidelines that say, if the quality of a projector is so poor that all lights have to be turned off, that it si harmful and the whole unit should be replaced? Or is it perfectly acceptable to have staff/students sat in near total darkness to view a projected image? -
Not looking forward to tonight's weight in....not had a good week. Think I'll have put on a couple of lb's :-(

I've always found that cooking the meal yourself leads to mega brownie points with the other half. So I did this last year. Rather than paying a fortune to go out, I cooked a nice meal, with candles wine etc etc. I then gave her the present I'd got her.....a "wii fit" (which she'd said she'd wanted as she thought it would help her lose a bit of weight)......"Are you saying I'm fat" :-o There's no winning with some people :-) We are still together though, and this year I've gone for the build a bear option, it has to go down better than the Wii Fit!

I'm going to add to the Lambo or Atom votes. The Atom just looks insane, but there'd always be part of me wanting to drive an aston....to quote "just cos" :-)

I currently work in a school, really enjoy my job and really enjoy working within the school environment. I am looking for the next step up, to network manager, but I am not particularly interested in working in the private sector. I am fortunate in that at the present, I am in no rush and I'm happy to wait for the right school based job to come along.

Hi, We've got 400 ish Ergo workstations and we have very few problems with them. in the event of failure they've supplied us with a buffer stock of parts and we swap out the faulty part, send it back to them and they replenish our stock. Very very pleased with them. If you want to have a chat about Ergo, I'm always happy to sing their praises :-) Drop me a pm and I'll provide you with my phone number.

That's what I'm doing as well, but I get 63 points per day and I'm struggling to use them all!! I buy the Weightwatchers toffee bar things for my mid morning snack and they're quite tasty. Plus the recipe's from WW's cookbooks are pretty nice as well. Extra Light Philadelphia and breadsticks is my other snack of choice now :-)

Weigh in tonight..... another 3.5lb's off :-) I want that 1 stone award next week!
-
Might as well join in with this :-) I've been doing Weightwatchers for about 3 weeks now (third weigh in tonight *crosses fingers*), and I've had 9.5lbs off so far, hoping for another 2 tonight (won't say what my starting weight was as I'm very embarassed by it). Been doing the same as everyone else really. Started using the Gym at work 2/3 times a week (burning about 600 calories in 40 minutes at the moment). Playing football 1/2 a week, even did the parkrun the other week for the first time (might go again this weekend) and the golf season has now restarted, so it's all ways of burning off excess calories and it seems to be working so far. Biggest change I've made is cutting out bread and stopping drinking during the week. By cutting out bread I'm also cutting out most of my butter consumption, as my favourite snack was a couple of pieces of bread and butter. In addition, me and the mrs sit down every saturday night and plan our meals for the next week then get a tesco's online order placed. That way we can't be distracted by supposed "great offers" on things that we don't really need which aren't actually that good for us. I'm also tracking my intake using the weightwatchers app for iphone, which again I am finding incredibly useful as having a written record of what I'm eating and drinking is a great deterrent. Now I'm eating, Porridge made with semi skimmed milk for breakfast. Snack of a yoghurt, can of diet coke and a weightwatchers oatey bar thing at break. Lunch is a tin of Weightwatchers soup and then it's a weightwatchers recipe/bbc good food mag recipe for tea. Long may it continue :-) Not set any targets, just taking it half a stone at a time.

Morning all, We've now got to the stage at our school where we have to justify every single expenditure in writing (due to the budget cuts). We've got a situation whereby we have a number of projectors which are approximately 8/9 years old and they are getting to a point whereby just replacing a bulb won't fix the problems that they have (in addition the bulb prices on these particular projectors are over £200 each! so buying a new projector would only cost us a low percentage more). What I'm looking for is some sort of guideline that talks about how good the image should be that is projected. For example, should the image be visible without having to turn off the classroom lights? In all classrooms with this particular projector, unless you turn off all lights you cannot see the image, which I am sure must be straining the eyes of the people looking at it. Anything anyone can suggest on that will be very gratefully received as always. Iain

I'm with you on that, the Crunchie Friday feeling has hit me. I'm off out with the better half later, going away tomorrow night and going to see Manchester City vs Notts County on Sunday. Thoroughly looking forward to my weekend. Might even treat myself and have my first pint of 2011 :-) It has been helped though that this morning I picked up a hire car for use whilst mine is being repaired....the kidn souls have only given me a BMW 320 M Sport as a replacement for my Honda Civic! I can't wait to drive that around all weekend :-) Roll on 3.30 :-)

That seems reasonable :-)

Hi All, Just wanting to pick your brains again. We've now decided we're going to go with an external Audio Interface device in order to meet our needs for this project. The two I've been reccomended (by suppliers) are as follows. Focusrite Saffire 6 Alesis IO/2 Express Has anyone used either of these devices before? If so, can you give me any feedback on your experience with them? Many thanks as always.

Another vote for this. Plus I hate it when people ask me for ink....you have a laser printer, it uses toner!!
