Cheers @localzuk. I'll grab it off the machine bit later on. I've got a few machines to image so I'm having to point pxe back to the original wds server. I'll post the logs to see if they make sense. I did look in there but I recall the errors were generic.

No updates needed. Still much the same to be honest. I can get an image on the machine, but it doesn't enable the local administrator account and also doesn't join the domain. Man SCCM is complicated!

It's taking us well over an hour to deploy an image that would have take 10 mins on the WDS server. I've tried rebooting it. It's almost like when it's trying to process the task sequence. I've loaded the server with resources, as it seems SCCM & SQL are seriously thirsty! I've just read on tech net about a possible hotfix, so @FN-GM could be right. I will post again later when I've checked that everything is up-to-date. Thanks guys.

Just looked in and we don't have multicast enabled, so it's not that. Any other suggestions?

Hi guys, We're currently installing SCCM2012. I'm sure it's going to be very useful for us. I have a query that I hope someone can answer. Deploying OS images seems dreadfully slow in comparison with our Server 2012, WDS server. Is this a config issue or did you find the same? The image is identical in size on both. +1 for Ruckus. Plug it in and it just works. Signal strength is awesome. The only additional config we have here is additional vlan for the guest network (separate IP range). As with most things, you get what you pay for IMO.

Hi Dave, Thank you for this. Can I ask if any Wireless N models are left? I would love one of those, but don't have a use for the non-wifi model. I just don't want you to send one out to us and for it to just sit on the shelf gathering dust when one of the other edugeeks could use it. Regards, Gardinho

If I switch between the 2 databases I still get the same error when I try and access it through a browser - error reading from database.

Database information_schema moodle mysql performance_schema As amateur as this sounds, I can't recall which of the moodle or mysql databases I'm using. Is there a way to find this out? I still have a dump from the old server. Would it be just as easy to reinstall mysql and reimport?

Ok - slightly different error: Error: Database connection failed It is possible that the database is overloaded or otherwise not running properly. The site administrator should also check that the database details have been correctly specified in config.php I'm sure it's to do with MySQL. I'm a complete novice with it!

Hi guys, First time user of Ubuntu looking for some advice. I'm trying to transfer our Moodle from a Windows xampp installation to a new Ubuntu box. The installation went fine, but since I copied the data from the old Moodle & MoodleData folders I now get the error: Error reading from database. I have tried to import the old MySql database over using the plugin Adminer, but I'm not totally sure if it came across cleanly. Can anyone offer any advice? Many thanks,

When you say 415+, do you mean 415j? If so, that's a tripped down version. The processor is nowhere near as good and you get half the amount of RAM. Would definitely be worth getting the 415, or even the 414 over the 415j. I'm pretty sure there was a review on CNET that said the same thing.

I watched a senior member of staff run to his car in the pouring down rain using his Macbook Pro as a rather expensive umbrella. So ridiculous, you have to laugh (or cry). So what's the worst case of IT misuse that you have experienced from staff?

Can't beat Synology or QNAP IMO. I have the DS414 with 4 x 4TB drives. Not cheap though!

ESET was just over £2k for us. We have it on over 1000 devices. As for management, you can install the management console on your desktop. From there you can change policies, deploy to machines etc. To be honest the install was so straight forward that we've had very little maintenance to do on it. It's by far the best AV we've had.

We went from Sophos to ESET. It's been a great move. It's so light on system resources, yet deals with viruses etc brilliantly. They gave us a rip and replace installation procedure that automates deployment and removes old antivirus installations. Couldn't be easier.
