This has been posted previously but we didn't recruit. Please see details at : https://www.king-james.co.uk/senior-it-technician-2/ Ideal job for a technician looking to move up to Senior or maybe a University leaver with good technical knowledge wanting to get started

I realise this is a late reply, but for anyone else who is looking for suitable hardware... We run ours using Ryzen 5 Pro 4650G processors and use the onboard Radeon graphics along with 16Gb RAM. The program runs just fine. Nothing too advanced is needed unless you start wanting to use the Flow simulations for liquids. For our students who are just creating 3D models, it's spot on.

Once you've done the above, search the user and select them - probably already done if you've added the license - then go to their OneDrive tab. Click the Edit button under the storage used bar and you can increase it from here. 1Tb is the max it will allow I think.

We've been hit by this new 100Gb cap over the weekend which has affected roughly 10 members of staff. I've managed to resolve it by adjusting the licenses on the users, no cost incurred (I hope, tell me if I'm wrong!) Normally we just give staff the Office 365 A1 Plus for Faculty license and that does everything we need. But after extensive reading, I found that if users are given the Microsoft 365 Apps for Faculty license, then you can increase their limit back up to 1Tb !! We had 300+ of these available from our agreement and I've never bothered with them. I assigned one to each of the 10 members of staff and this allowed me to up their storage no problem. Be aware that all of the 365 storage takes from a central pool that is by default 100Tb. This includes email Inboxes, OneDrive, Sharepoint etc, so be sure you have plenty before dishing these out. You can check your overall usage from the main 365 Admin homepage by selecting Reports --> Storage. Hope this is helpful

Wonde, now charging £360 per year but you don't need it.
themightymrp replied to chazzy2501's topic in Cloud Services
You would click the Settings button at the top right of Wonde to go to the main page. Look for the Wonde License section as highlighted. Then you should have a downgrade button at the lower right of the next screen- 54 replies

Just received the email now regarding this change. As everyone on this thread seems to be downgrading to basic, I'll be doing the same thanks!- 54 replies

I can't seem to find an existing thread regarding this, but I have a question. For those schools who supply iPad's to their staff, do you make use of an approved whitelist of apps? Or do you allow staff to install their own apps as they see fit? Do you perform a DPIA for all apps in use? Or inversely, do you make use of an app blacklist? Would be interested in answers. Mainly because we are about to distribute new iPads (to replace some older ones on a lease agreement) and the question was raised regarding data protection. What can apps access on devices, especially as we encourage staff to use them for work purposes, can data leak out through uncontrolled means?

I've had no response to the ticket I raised either. As you say, you'd think it would be treated as more urgent

The internet is working for us, but I've already had a couple of reports of issues accessing Outlook and OneDrive :-/
-
I thought the AQA thing was just us! Glad to know it may all be related

The page loaded eventually, but just white background and black text. No images or formatting

Yes we have having the same issues here on SBB. Has anyone opened a ticket with them yet? I know they had a general speed issue last week under event 1055 which I think was due to the web filtering? Could be related.

Power BI Licensing for Viewer Only Roles
themightymrp replied to smarties11's topic in How do you do....it?
No clue to be honest? We've managed to get it to work in Bromcom via the Shared Account method, but thanks @Marci for the response -
Power BI Licensing for Viewer Only Roles
themightymrp replied to smarties11's topic in How do you do....it?
Out of interest, for anyone using Bromcom, how does this affect the publishing of custom dashboards into Bromcom? As I believe you just needed the one Pro license to do this previously? @smarties11 - when I say I pushed a dashboard into Teams for them to view, it was functional for well over a year. So not a trial license applied -
Power BI Licensing for Viewer Only Roles
themightymrp replied to smarties11's topic in How do you do....it?
Has this changed recently? I had a dashboard published into Microsoft Teams which has been accessed by my technicians for a while now (I'm the only one with the Pro license). Now when they access it they get the message that they don't have the required license? It seems coincidental that I found this thread on first checking which makes me think there has been a change. Which sucks! -

[bromcom] Bromcom SSO Issue / Slowness
themightymrp replied to michaeljbrewis97's topic in MIS Systems
Our's is throwing fits! The Power Bi dashboards she's been working on are mangled. Incidentally, a comment I put on the Bromcom Community regarding their "Announcement" this morning over last weeks issues has been removed by their moderators. It came from our Business Director and went thus: "If the subpar service and performance were an isolated incident, it would be unfortunate and frustrating. Regrettably, there is a persistent underperformance in meeting contractual expectations, particularly concerning planned upgrades and seemingly every September after onboarding. Your system is rapidly becoming unreliable and sluggish. Our teaching staff is losing faith in your ability to fulfil the essential requirements as a student Management Information System (MIS). Unless improvements are implemented swiftly, we will have no choice but to explore alternative providers. The reliability and speed of your services must align with our expectations to ensure the seamless functioning of our educational processes." -
