I reported this issue with Smoothwall abouta year ago, there are several websites you can block to disable Opera on mobile devices. Opera is the only browser able to do this (i tried literally 20 others). Check the Smoothwall forums for a post about this and it has the sites to block.

Yes our is. Its a website, so you can just use a normal SSL cert to secure it. Bromcom stores the data directly into the SIMS database, you cannot access the SIMS data if you are offline. Therefore paper fire drill registers would be needed like with SIMS now.

The student loan company is beyond a joke, they send you abusive letters with incorrect details in, you get them corrected and then 6 months later the same problems still exist. If you dare move jobs they threaten to fine you unless you tell them immediately if you are working unemployed or gone abroad. Ironic really when you changed jobs 6 months earlier but there system is so bloody slow they only just noticed despite fact you have paid the bumbling idiots over £500 already since changing jobs. I just ignore letters from them now, it's usally them asking you to update there records of where you live, despite sending the letter to your home address and if you didn't live there then you would never have got there stupid letter. Student debt should be to the government, not sold off to some private company to make a profit on with a higher interest rate then Mortgage Payments despite what is claimed by the government. But lets face it, that would make our national debt look worse, much like the government taking on Royal Mail pension liabilities makes us look like we are 28billion better off, when in fact in 10 years like we will have spent about 40billion. I woudl also remove her from local admins for her first login, and obviously make sure she has logged off and not just switched user before you do this.

If you have any form of cached profiles that might interfere. I would wipe her local profile and the reg key associated with it, HKLM/SOFTWARE/MICROSOFT/WINDOWS NT/ProfileList (I believe) Then make her log on.

We have Webfolder and it is good. Remember webfolder you need a network/ internet conenction for it to work whereas Emerge does offline and sync to. Wehther this is relevant to you or not I don't know.

We had DFS, and I suspect but maybe due to dubious setup (a lot of stuff was here) it caused problems. Ignoring the obvious problem of sometimes it takes about 15 minutes to replicate etc, so in theory a student could move from one room to another and there work not be there. Ours also started to delete new files instead of replicating them, well technically it replicated but it replicated the out of date server... These deleted files were though happily stored on both servers in the shadow copies, so there was a really odd thing happening, so yes we binned replication, more hassle then it was worth to us. That said he had been happy (if not slighly annoying when replication was slow) for atleast a year or so, and as I said the person who was here when it was setup can only be described as inept. Ours was home drives replicated.

Its been a while since I used Ruckus but you use to be able to daisy chain them, so in theory if you coudl daisy chain two points you could surely daisy chain a PC.

Just for your information, as I stated earlier I believe it may have been caused by poor installation. The problem with the burglar alarm was nothing to do with wireless burglar alarm points but if the Ruckus point was near the alarm (IR Sensor) then it set it off, if we movesd the point 1 metre to the left or right then it was fine.

I find it interesting that a forum sponsor, who has a Ruckus dog as his icon claims to be vendor neutral and that Ruckus is just simple the best at everything. Personally I've used Ruckus from a supplier, either the installation was awful or the product was awful because it was worse then the previous mix of G points, this was 3 years ago though. I don't write Ruckus off because it may have been installation by the company that was the issue, it was so bad the wifi points set the burglar alarms off! My problem is that a lot of wifi manufactuers charge vast somes of money for the same mass produced wifi points, then attempt to convince consumers they NEED them, like other fruit based technology firms. The problem is most people don't need beam shaping, or most of the other functions offered. I compare wifi systems to cars now, sure you spend £250,000 on a car then it will be better, have a nicer interior, won't be as bumpy and make you feel better, but that doesn't mean the car that cost £25,000 doesn't do everything you need and if your £250,000 goes is no longer "fixed" you need to make another huge investment. If your cheaper car is no longer "fixed" well you can buy the latest cheaper model and still be £200,000 to the good.

The link will be as poor or as good as you want it and price is ofcourse the factor here. There are companies in Manchester that run 100MB and higher Internet Access over wifi and are emant to eb extremely good, Smoothwall's main office in leeds uses the same company to get their Internet access I believe. If you pay for a proper installation then the link should be fine 99% of the time and at a decent speed. if you actually invest properly to you can bin off all the ADSL broadbands and routers and share access with the main school.

There are multiple companies that will do point to point wifi. Depending on the power of ehe wirelss you may need a license.

Does the NIC still appear within the VMs when you login locally? Basically installing WDS messes with the NIC on the physical host, this change has go on to affect the VMs who connect via the same NIC. You probably jsut needs to reassign the NIC to the VMs in HyperV.

Contact your local Apple store and ask them to match it with free engraving, our local store did both. Apple UK won't help you, only local stores will price match. The one problem with the laser engraving is that should one be faulty it takes longer to return it and get it replaced as you can't use a local store and keep the engraving, you have to send it back to Apple via snail mail.
