that's not what i intended. What i was looking at doing was getting OWA2010 up and running looking at 2003 mailboxes, then i could move the mailboxes and 2010 should still see them I don't know if this is the case however.

Only that having OWA at least gives us a backup if outlook doesn't work straight away, and if it's working through EXC2010 looking at mailxboxes in EXC2003, presumably i can move mailboxes and (apart from during the moving process) they'll be consistently available. Do you see what i'm getting at, trying to change the establishment configuration a bit at a time to ensure minimum disruption

does this mean i can get OWA working and change the dns records for OWA before moving mailboxes? or have i misunderstood that sentence? thanks for the link, just downloading to read now

I'm doing my first mail migration since starting in this job, moving exhcange 2003 to 2010. I've got 2010 installed and mostly configured i'm just looking for advice on which order to complete the remaining tasks to switch servers and other things. I've obviously given the new server a new name and IP address. When i am ready can i switch the old server off and rename the new server and change the ip to match the old. All the dns entries will then still be correct and mail routing from county should still work. Or is that a no-go? OWA is currently published alongside sharepoint using an ISA box, certificates are not my strong suit, i'm assuming my current exchange server has a cert to authenticate against ISA, so i'll need to generate a new cert for the new server and replace the reference on the ISA box? Any thoughts or advice, wise-ones?

As 2013 has just been released it seems silly to use 2010 (which i was just about to install) But which is likely to be the easiest transition: 2003> 2007> 2013 2003> 2010> 2013

I'm editing the 'shared laptop stationtype' and i've set folder redirection to C:\users\%username%\My Documents But it's still not working, i'm just going to test a simpler folder path to see whether it's the syntax or the gpo

This is how we used to do it I like most of the integration that CC4 brings and am keen to embrace it.

a) because that's what they're used to b) stops them filling up the server with junk c) allows them to have itunes/etc on there without causing b) Problem is, i don't want this to affect their use of the normal workstations.

We have just migrated to CC4, our staff laptops were all vanilla before but now i want to build them as CC4 machines. What i would like to configure, however, is that while using their laptops it stores the documents locally (all the time), in addition to this while in school they will have a mapped N: drive but no automated redirection to it. This is how it worked before but i'm not sure of the best way to configure this now they are domain/cc4. Any help appreciated
