Here's mine http://i22.photobucket.com/albums/b316/GreenBeast999/beehive.jpg It's against one fence which borders a path and road. You can't tell the hive is there when standing on the pathway. We have neighbours the opposite side but i doubt they can even tell either, the bees don't spend too much time in the vicinity, they're always coming and going

go for it, that's all i've got, a long garden. I'm probably going to put a second hive in next year (it's easier to guard against disasters like losing a queen that way, but not essential)

just thought i'd pop in to give my own answer to that one. I built a hive last month for £45, i got given a bee suit but that's the only other specific piece of bee equipment i use and they can be had for £40 It doesn't have to be an expensive hobby How to Start Beekeeping...

Yes it's definitely about personal choice and priorities, i don't mean to come across as preachy or holier than thou. And i quite agree about teaching, i've been in education over 4 years now and definitely wouldn't want to be a teacher.

i completely agree with taking breaks from work, but don't personally see the need to jet round the world. i take little camping trips in this country and try to make my time out of work enjoyable all year, making sure i get out into the country on onto the river. i've not been abroad for 6 years and my passport has elapsed since and i have no plans to renew it, such is the lack of interest in foreign holidays. i'm in much the same position as ICT_GUY above

I guess what i'm trying to say is people can easily do without holidays if their pay grade doesn't allow them. All this comes from hearing teachers saying 'it's outragious' and 'i can't live on that' when refused pay rises a year or two back, when quite clearly a happy existance can easily be had on less than they're earning.

fair enough, but holidays are non-essential as far as i'm concerned. my job isn't always the best for my personal happiness but it's pretty low stress and close to home, there are other jobs i'd probably prefer to do but when people mention leaving to me, it's usually to do IT in a more stressful/pressured environment for the reward of extra money. no thanks

This is why it rubs me the wrong way when teachers (especially new, young teachers) bitch about pay. They earn buckets more than i do and yet i manage to live a perfectly happy life. I agree about holidays, new tvs and car, etc... So much rubbish we just don't need. I'm miffed when people suggest i leave to work in industry so i can earn loads more money, i always just reply 'i don't want loads more money at the expense of my happiness, thanks'

Yeah i've been running water cooled for a couple of years now CPU, North bridge and GPU I suggest buying plenty of pipework and planning the system out properly before you start The pipe can be quite rigid and as such you want just the right amount for each jump between components It's worked well, i've only had one small leak which luckily was from quite low in the case and so pooled in the base but didn't get on any components. However for this reason i won't leave it running unattended (definately when out of the house but even overnight if i can help it)

We've got a batch of 30 laptops here that don't allow everyone to use office when started up it will do its install bit but stop half way and give error 2503 and then 2502 but doesn't actually tell you anything when you cancel all that away and get in to the program (Word for example) it says: Microsoft Office Word is not installed for the current user. Please run setup to install the application i've looked into this problem and this is meant to be because office has only been installed for one user instead of all users. except that my office.mst file has the allusers="2" line meaning everyone should get it any ideas? its driving me crazy
