this is a good idea, would be worth getting two disks, make a pass with one disk and then another skim pass to make sure the entire cut is at full depth

i'd be inclined to get a standard grinder (useful) and maybe mod it, add a depth stop to it somehow

part for multiple projects; a sous vide cooker, a retro digital music player, etc... plus a new set of slim fit shirts to fit my new physique

Migrated exchange from 2003 to 2010 on a repurposed box during the summer. We’re having issues with exchange backing up and it looks like it might be due to storage problems. So I’m looking into it and have come across some ‘inconsistencies’ with the RAID array. Pretty sure I built the array as RAID 5, it seems the go-to option generally. The array consists of 4 x 147Gb 15k SCSI Drives. The RAID is reported as 420Gb in size, both in the configuration utility and in Windows, which seems right as the drives are in actuality 140Gb and 3 x 140 is 420 But the configuration utility tells me the array is RAID 0 and is not ‘REDUNDANT’ (as per RAID level 0) That doesn’t tally up with the logical disk size. One of the drives shows 3 media errors, so I intended installing a fifth drive (hot spare) and failing the dodgy drive. But when I did so the array went offline (which tallies with RAID 0) How can I be sure what I have? Can I add a fifth drive and move from RAID 0 to RAID 5 ‘live’ or do I need to recreate the array from scratch?

I checked the d/l speed of the torrents when troubleshooting and they were at the 4-10kbps level, so I couldn't understand it The access point i'm currently using is actually another wireless cable router as it's got better wireless capability than the WAP I replaced it with. And that change was only recent (month ago maybe). So that and the switches are definitely something to change out and check

At my home (a farm) there are two main properties The first house has the phone line and main router (BT Home hub) but we have cat5 running underground to the second building (my place) which has a couple of 8 port switches, with my sheevaplug Linux torrent machine connected to one of them. I usually have torrents ticking away all the time. Recently my step-dad in the main house was having trouble with internet access being slow (PDFs take ages/don't complete, etc...) and experimented with disconnecting my cat5 connection at his end. The connection immediately improved. We've since tested this with me sitting in his house using a speed checker and pausing/resuming the torrent client. I don't notice any speed issues my end on my laptop/phone connected via wireless access point hanging off of one of the switches, whether the torrents are running or not. I would like to keep using torrents but can't really (during the day at least) if it practically disables my parents internet at their house. Any ideas why a few measly trickling torrents would cause network/internet slowing? especially as it doesn't seem to affect me? any tiups on improving the situation, that enables me to still use torrents?
