  1. i;m not 100% convinced it is the update, as I've just updated one myself and it retained it's proxy settings. I don't know what else to think though
  2. They are 1:1 iPads which also go home. They all have student profiles on them and the profile includes the Wifi and Proxy details. The profile is still on them after the update but for some reason the information has been removed from the actual wifi settings. Even if they update at home, where they would still have internet access, the profile isn't being used after the update.
  3. Is noone else having this issue? Lightspeed have said they believe it's an Apple issue, but if it is Apple then wouldn't it be affecting more of us? What's frustrating me is the profile with the proxy is sitting on the iPad but the iPad isn't using it. I don't understand how there can be a profile there but it isn't getting used.
  4. This week I pushed out the iOS12 update to our iPads, coincidentally?? I have had a lot of iPads losing their proxy settings. They are all setup in Lightspeed and they get the proxy settings from a profile. The profile is still on the iPad but the proxy is off/missing in the Wifi Setup. Entering the proxy manually resolves the issue, but I am getting more and more, and some pupils seem to be getting reset every day.
  5. I have used Mosyle, Lightspeed and Meraki, and definitely think Mosyle is the easiest. Unfortunately I've got 300 iPads in Lightspeed and the thought of trying to transfer them all is too painful so I am stuck with it, but if I was starting again it would be Mosyle.
  6. We are using Lightspeed for our MDM so this maybe a good optoin.
  7. I am happy to lock them into a browser, that's how netsupport is supposed to work. We do use Apple Classroom, which is great when they are in class, but our pupils have their own iPads and the screens aren't going to be monitored at all times. I'd like to be able to see browser history if there is an issue. Unfortunately, our firewall is at the council and we don't have easy access to reporting.
  8. We use Netsupport on our PCs to monitor browsing and it emails with any concerns - it's fab, but I can't get it to work on the iPads. I've been onto NetSupport and our council and neither can understand why. Does anyone use anything else that I can trial, as we have a lot of iPads in school now and lack of monitoring is a concern. Bev
  9. How is Windows 10 Pro 'free-ish'?
  10. I think I'm too late here, but we use calend.ly, it links into a google calendar. You do need one account per teacher but for a small school that's not too difficult.
  11. We're moving to 65in tv's, not touch screen, they seem much easier to see in the classroom that projector / screen and they deal with the sound as well so less cabling/speakers/amplifiers etc.
  12. We go through our council's smoothwall I have received your email about testing the link but I'm a bit swamped with setting up 1;1 ipads for all our new pupils, so I haven't had a chance to run the test yet. I will do it soon though
  13. that's frustrating. I've been in a similiar position with the Chromebooks but they are just about end of life and we are moving to iPads, so I had hoped the iOS app would work.
  14. Did you get anywhere with this? I have one iPad that doesn't go through any filtering and it's exactly the same as the others. They all appear on the list but you don't get any information on them.
  15. I will give that a try.
  16. I have recently upgraded some older Stone machines to Windows 10. They are having problems with the Network card going to sleep. I went through and set the device manager yesterday, but there wasn't allow this computer to turn off this device, but there is 'Energy Efficient Internet', I have unticked that, and all the options in the power save option but they are still disconnecting. A reboot brings the card back to life, but it's frustrating in an IT Suite were sometimes the computers are left on but not in use, I need them to still be useable later on in the day!.
  17. We don't use Lesson Monitor, I think maybe I need to apply the timetable but it says it is advised that you are confident that you need to run this process before proceeding - it could result in loss of Cover assignments and Lesson Marks. If in doubt please log a call for further guidance. We don't have any cover assignements in SIMS so that's ok, are lesson marks different from the registration marks? We don't have marks for individual lessons but we do obviously have am and pm registration.
  18. I have the timetable setup in Nova-T and it pulls through correctly into SIMS. Period 4 is marked in NovaT as a registration period, but in SIMS and in the SIMS teacher App, it only shows afternoon registration to the form teacher, not to the teacher who is actually teaching that class. How do I tell SIMS that we want to take the afternoon register in the period 4 lessons and not in form groups? Thanks Bev
  19. I added a couple of subjects in the wrong blocks, I have changed the number of lessons to 0 but I can't actually delete them from the model screen which means empty classes are coming through to some of my other systems. They don't have times or teachers assigned as they don't exist but they need deleting altogether.
  20. Thank you, I have just come to the conclusion. I have to say lightspeed support were much less than helpful on this and just said it was an Apple issue. It was this statement I couldn't understand - After you unassign an app from the legacy token but it means releasing them from the devices so you can reassign them.
  21. I think I've sussed it out. I have had to revoke the licenses in Lightspeed, then in Apple School Manager I can transfer them to the new Account, and then reassign the apps from the new token in lightspeed. Definitely a holidays job as I suspect all the apps will disappear and reinstall.
  22. I can add both tokens to lightspeed but then you can only access one set of licenses or the other, so I have 80 Green Screen licenses, but 37 are linked to the Legacy token, and 43 are linked to the new ASM token, and I can't seem to assign licenses from both pools. Lightspeed seem to think this is very unusual but the Apple documentation suggests it's quite common. "If assigned licenses don't transfer, they remain associated with the purchaser's legacy tokens which should remain uploaded to MDM with the location token. After you unassign an app from the legacy token, you can transfer the licenses to a location in Settings > Apps and Books in Apple School Manager or in Apple Business Manager." It doesn't say how to unassign an app from the legacy token however
  23. i have a few (which I don't actually need) but all the apps are assigned to the top level one.
  24. No, certificates and tokens are all fine. I am wondering if I've got the token for the old VPP rather than the new ASM, but one of our expensive paid for apps seems to still be linked to the token I've got in Lightspeed so I don't want to lose those.
  25. I am currently very confused... I have previously bought a lot of licences on my VPP account. A few months ago I linked the VPP account to Apple School Manager and all seemed to be well. I then have the licenses pulling through into Lightspeed where I distribute them. This has all been working fine until today. Now, I have been meddling in ASM trying to set up new users, and change classes etc, but I don't think I did anything to the apps and books accounts. However, what I can now see is all unused licenses are sitting in ASM and all the assigned ones are in Lightspeed. eg, I own 600 licenses for Adobe Spark Page - I have assigned 3 in LSM, so it's showing as 3/3 used, 100% full. ASM is showing as 0 in Use, 597 Available. It's like this for every app - they are all showing as 100% in LSM. I am pretty sure it was ok yesterday as I set up some new iPads and apps installed on them, today I set up a new iPad and it couldn't get a license for any apps which is what alerted me to the issue. If I release the licenses in lightspeed, they are available in lightspeed but not in ASM. It;s like my account has been split into 2 accounts ? I can see all the licenses in the purchase history of both VPP and ASM.
