Funnily enough - I've just bought some projectors and stands off them. Fairly swift delivery - and the prices were fair. Haven't tried the installation services though. I'd be interested to hear how an actual install goes.

I've just done the same for our "Shared Area" for exactly the same reasons. I've turned Windows Auditing on - but found it a real drag looking at the stuff it produced - I found this after extensive Googling http://www.greyware.com/software/systemchangelog/ And recommend it to you - it makes delving through the logs a breeze, and I wrote a little script to archive the log and csv it produced with the date each day, so it doesn't get over big. Have to say though - just telling the staff that I was now auditing who did what was enough to eliminate 99% of the problems

You sure about that GD? I find it hard to believe that 10% of adults in the UK have been affected in this way??

Just to support Manick - we ditched NetOp (after 2 painful years) and took up ABTutor over half term - its just fabulous in comparison to the useless, expensive, bug ridden bit of software it replaced. The clients rarely drop off, the viewing mode is responsive and policies are much better implemented. Well worth the cash imho.

Hi - we've been happy using redirected folders for a couple of years (2003/XP) - but find the Macromedia element of the DIDA course material will not run without a mapped network drive pointing to the user's application data area. We're having problems getting the drive to work properly. There is a MS doc saying that it might not work because the mapping might run before the redirection occurs, so the folder is not there to map to. Anybody cracked this one, or got any good ideas to try? Our folders are in the format \\server\YearGroup\User Cheers

We bodged Liberum for the Site Staff to take requests and also for the reception people to log phone calls to teachers, so they were not "forgotten".

We have an OU for each printer and put the PCs (in AD) in the appropriate OU. At login a script runs which looks at the OU and assigns a default printer based on that. I prefer doing this - as all the administration is centralised, rather than having local variables on the PCs.

For us - the solution was a combination of adding the {host=} in the odbc stuff and ensuring that the user had permissions on the local FMS folder, the database folder, the sims.ini files in the c:\windows folder and the pdoxusrs file in c:\

And you have to watch out for all the kids (and teachers) who just switch the PCs off at the mains instead of logging out. I run the "Clear All Entries" thing every night.

Or you could join your local Freecycle group - its on Yahoo somewhere - people offer up stuff for free - and other people say "Yes please" - its great for getting rid of old stuff.
