[fog] Anyone know the release date for fog version 0.30
bart21 replied to bart21's topic in O/S Deployment
is there any way you would be able to test the first point above, we are short on storage space so ntfs resizable would be awesome on W7. Why was the service register removed. we used to deploy the client via gp and let them register instead of visiting each machine. thanks for your help fog is an excellent product nick -

Hi I have just started rolling windows 7 machines out on our network. My office machine being the first! I know you are supposed to be able tio enable the C$ share by turning file and printer sharing on then adding the reg key LocalAccountTokenFilterPolicy as a DWORD with a value of 1. I have tried the above with no luck. A colleague at another school said he did the above changes and it worked great. But not for us. Anyone any ideas as to what more i can do to enable these. (a way with group policy if poss) Thanks peeps nick

Hi I have some macs, we use them locally at the mOment, however I would like to put them on the domain so users can use windows shares and windows log on details. I know I need an Od mac server to do this but that's all I know. I would be grateful if someone could explain how to do this from the beginning. Thank you Sorry to sound a little dim:) Nick

Hi I am looking at remote file access from home. Does any one have any ideas. A google search was not very helpful. I want staff to be able to access their h and g drives from home. I do NOT want remote access involving terminal services. free/opensource would be best and linux even better. thanks nick

Hi people We are using fog 0.29 with xp at the moment, We tried the 0.29 client with xp but it would not join to the domain so we use the 0.28 client and all is good. We are currently looking at windows 7, i have created an image and installed fog client 0.29. The hostname changes but no domain join happens, do i need netdom installed for windows 7. (i think i read somewhere that with fog client 0.29 netdom was not required.) Any ideas? Thanks for your help nick

hi I have seen some software which will display the code of conduct on the users screen until they click accept. If you click decline it will log you off. I have a piece of software that will do this every time the user logs on,this is very annoying. I am looking for a program that will do this once a term or automatically on a schedule. I HAVE TRIED AUP INFORMANT BY BIZZELL. IT WILL NOT RUN ON TERMINAL SERVICES. Does anyone know what does this, and will work on terminal services? Preferably free!? thanks nick
