MDT - Create image for someone else to use for duplication
computer_expert replied to mullet_man's topic in O/S Deployment
Alternately have a look at the offline deployment share bit of MDT. It pops the bits of the deployment share you specify into an ISO image (which you could then create a bootable usb stick from). Here is a good guide. -
change ftp:// to http:// - seems to work fine for me

Looks like I'm going to have to wait for El Capitan as it still does the same thing

Computer Science Course - Coding & Networking

You can find a lengthy thread on this here, along with a load of other bits on locking down virtualbox. http://www.edugeek.net/forums/how-do-you-do/95325-virtualbox-image-programming-classes.html -
I'm hoping that the 'Networking reliability improvements' listed in 10.10.4 will fix the issue I'm having with radius connections and resuming from sleep.

Download the installer ISO from VLSC, mount the ISO and have a look in the sources folder for install.wim. Ignore boot.wim as this only contains the stuff to boot from the ISO.

Mandatory profile merged desktop/start menu/taskbar
computer_expert replied to Garacesh's topic in Windows 7
Try this setting in GP: Group Policy Search (User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Start Menu and Taskbar\Remove common program groups from Start Menu) I'm fairly sure there are GPO settings to hide the recycle bin icon/IE icon in GP (There is a setting to hide & disable all items on the desktop) -
I think it's probably encrypted as well

Wonder if it'll get banned like it did at Farnborough last year... -
If the mac has 10.7 or above, try this (OS X Internet Recovery section). It will wipe the disk so make sure you have a backup beforehand. It's a hefty download as well.

You can find a good guide on this here: https://4sysops.com/archives/use-dism-to-slipstream-updates/ I'd use either WSUS offline or Windows Update Downloader to grab the updates. Just be aware that you will need to exclude the following updates for Win7 SP1 as they cause setup to fail KB2506143 KB2533552 KB2496898 KB2533552 KB2604521 KB2726535 KB2819745 I've not experimented with Windows 8/8.1 so am unsure if updates will need to be left out like Win7

DNS Probe Google Chrome
computer_expert replied to Liam's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
Have you tried disabling the inbuilt chrome DNS client? It's under Admin Templates > Google > Google Chrome and the setting is called 'Use built-in DNS client' (assuming you have the Chrome ADMX templates installed) -
Find folders that have no name
computer_expert replied to truebluesteve's topic in Windows Server 2012
I'm sure someone will be along with a better solution soon, but have you tried running tree from the command prompt? Do this on the server itself and open a command prompt, cd to the shared folder and run tree /A >> "%userprofile%\desktop\folders.txt" this will output a list of all the folders within the shared drive and write it all to a text file called folders.txt in the desktop folder of the currently logged on user. the /A switch tells it to use ascii characters otherwise the output will have unicode characters in it you will have to look through the list manually but it should make it a bit easier for you -

Is this a genuine copy of Office? The only reason I ask is because the programs you mentioned are commonly used by pirates.- 3 replies

Unlock Profile to change settings?
computer_expert replied to billyf's topic in How do you do....it?
I think ntuser.dat/.man is a system file (the option to view system files is in the same place as where you turn on/off the option to show file extensions) You can also use Group Policy Preferences to push out reg changes too. -
