I'm using an external company to migrate from Exchange 2010 to office 365, the Migration of mailboxes is now complete and they are looking to switch the MX records over. One concern that I have is that the majority of end users are using Outlook 2010 linked to my (exchange 2010) server on site. Is anyone aware of how to smoothly transition them all to the office 365 servers instead? Am I looking at running a script on each end machine at logon, is it a local DNS record or do I need to create a "HOW TO" for each of the users to do it themselves. thanks in advance for all your help. -
I have been in contact with SWGFL for the last 6ish months about this one. Apparently it is possible to block the app, however only by blocking all the google type apps!! Not ideal.

I have challenged a student to give me some really good reasons for allowing use of Minecraft within school. I have also said that I would find some reasons why not to allow minecraft in school (I feel I should point out I love minecraft!!). The Student went online and instantly sent me 8 or so links from websites recommending uses for school. so I thought "I'm a geek!!" so am posting here for some really constructive reasons why not to allow minecraft in school and perhaps anybody's experiences of using minecraft in school if you have been brave enough. Thanks to you all for reading and responding. EDUGEEK ROCKS!!!

I'm looking at setting up a new website for my school, however I don't want it to go live yet and would like to set it up on a local machine on the network before copying it up to the SWGFL Web server once it is complete.:confused: I want to use Joomla on the new website. I see that SWGFL use Plasq. which version do they use? how do I go about installing it for XP? any other suggestions would be appreciated:confused:

I believe a good technician has the ability to : CHANGE A PRINT CARTRIDGE!!! in a business inkjet 1200 as soon as a member of staff says "i don't know how" (anyone with one knows what I mean) Keep a realistic smile going all day, every day!! Fix tape recorders!! Fix Cameras (the ones where the lens cover doesn't open)!! (try it, I dare you) Fix the telephone system (when phones in school stop ringing!!) Deal with all the computers in school and have spare desktops and cameras and printers and monitors and laptops with no space to store then and your office is a broom cupboard Deal calmly and politely when a member of staff phones you up @ 9am wanting a piece of software installed on all 18 machines in the ICT suite by 9:30 that doesn't come with a network installer!! keep the smile going when they get to a classroom and a member of staff says "oh, while you're here ...." :D:DARGHHHH:D:D:D

My Head Teachers HP Ipaq 6915 has given up the ghost (keeps resetting @ random intervals:sick:). He has mentioned to me about getting a blackberry. I've suggested that he could go for a PDA/ipaq instead. Does anyone have any suggestions of what to go for and also what to avoid? Any comments are greatly appreciated:confused:

Are you connecting wirelessly? have you tried wired? is the laptop plugged in (power)? some updates require that.

Have you been through the microsoft steps? You may encounter temporary connection-related errors when you use Windows Update or Microsoft Update to install updates I've also hear of this problem when the proxy server is not set to default (run proxycfg -u). thats assuming of cause that you use a proxy server.

The motorola Solution has a number advantages over some of the competitors, being :- When you buy the product you get all the licenses, you don't need to purchase the ring master (guest access) seperately, you don't need to buy a license for VOIP (you tick a box). A Second (backup) controller is considerably less that the primary controller as you don't need to purchase the licenses on the backup one as when it is used the primary controller has fallen over so it uses those licenses. :confused:

I've had a quote for a Motorola Wireless Solution, that is extremely competative. I'm very close to ordering it. Does anyone have any reasons why I shouldn't go with them? :confused: I've looked at many other solutions, so please don't just say look at Aruba, Xirrus, Extricom, Maru, Trapeze, Cisco, HP, Netgear, Dell cause I already have . I'm looking for a reason not to go for Motorola, Thanks.
