Im sure the Institute of IT training who's logo which is stamped over the paperwork could sort us out with the learning materials and course fees to complete? As for the director 6000 students at an average of 5000 quid, surely shouldn't have to rely on a bank loan to keep the company afloat? Maybe its because most of it was pumped into Access2Learns plumbing training? Not the first time this has happened to me, was robbed to the tune of £850 from the National Distance Learning Centre when that collapsed:sick: Andy T

Hello All I was just wondering if any of you kind people out there possibly have some old surplus VGA adapters. They are to join two male VGA connectors. We would require 3 for a KVM switch which has a male output and the KVM cable which has a male connector. Preferably without the screw lugs or we could get the technology department to saw them off lol. Happy new year gang, Just wondering if anybody has any excess spare Sanyo CXVB remotes lying around we could purchase off them, ideally looking for 4. As ours have gone into a swirling vortex They are for the early promethean IWB's. Also we are looking to purchase a couple of the logitech harmony remotes model 515 for our techs to use for the many types of projectors we have around the school, anyone use these? You may or not have mentioned event viewer, but if you can get this on the machine, it takes crash dump data and makes it easier to understand. Good Luck. Hi Toby, Our school has over 500 desktops and 115 teacher laptops, the virus is caught by our McAfee, but leaves a mess of the registry with startup looking for two dsjkhfkjsdhf.exe program entries (example there). This upsets the teachers on classroom pcs as they have to click okay twice after they log on to get rid of the message. We are chasing this around a large site would prefer to kick off a full rebuild of all PCs and ban USB usage and start afresh.

Hi Gang, For weeks now we have been chasing around a pesky virus (artemis) and are considering a ban on all USB sticks/removable drives. As we are an RM school we would like to recommend some off site storage for the girls/teachers to use. Would love to hear if other schools have followed through with this? Also did you open up all machines and physically remove connection from mainboard, or use BIOS configuration? How did the teachers and pupils react to the decision of banning them? Hi thanks for responding, to be honest we still haven't tracked down as to where its stemmed from although McAfee seems to be deleting it, its just not so great at the tidy up job after lol. Im gonna check a working staff room pc that MAY a suspect for the hidden C files:cool: and will report back later! Cheers Andy T

Hi Guys, Looks like we have had a virus travel around our network "artimus" by the looks of things, now mcafee has removed the virus, its leaving a messy registry entries with pop ups telling me that an .exe file of random letters cannot be found hence cannot start which is a nag to be honest. Also we have issues with USB keys which doesn't delete files but changes the icon for the removable device to a folder and the only way to get to the files is to right click and explore lol. What I want is a program which will sweep through pcs and correct and delete orphan reg entries and to clean up all profiles on the pc's.. Any ideas, or has anyone had this happen to them? I personally would go via Intel, as far as I am aware the seller is only obliged to look after for a standard 12 months, and any extra warranty is honoured by the manufacturer, I could be wrong but straight to intel would be the quickest way.

Hi Guys, Does anyone have a freeware network printer sniffer as we are looking to move to a metered print system in school and we would like to give the company accurate info as to which printers have printed the most pages etc. I saw one in action from a rival company who visited our school but for love nor money can remember what it was called lol. Hi Gang In the middle of complete CC3 rebuilds and our package install is a bit hit and miss with me having to go to the package deployment folder and edit the .ini file to change the INSTALL_FAILED to INSTALL_PENDING. Different packages on different machines. Does anyone know what causes this and is there any solutions to prevent it from happening.. All your tips gratefully received. Andy Turpie

Hi Guys, My lad has accidently inserted two disks into his wii causing optical damage, the machine itself is electonically fine and boots up etc, but the drive/laser would need replaced. Ideal for modder or for someone to get a spare cheap. I could order the parts and repair cheaply, but im not confident on console repairs. £40.00 plus p&p would be ideal.
