No restrictions, friends welcome. Think I capped players to 8 to minimise lag.

Rule 1 of Terraria. Build a hellevator!

Unofficial Edugeek Terraria server up. Terraria Server
-
As discussed in the steam sale thread, I've fired up a dedicated Terraria server for people to have a play in. It's a clean large map, so go nuts. Server address: rawns.homeip.net:7777 Hopefully you should have no issues connecting but just shout if you do.
-
Ahhh, my bad. I looked on Wikipedia on the right side at release dates (which I assume are the "official" release dates) and did not see the bit at the top saying publicly released May 2009 as a development alpha build. Either way, Terraria is an awesome game and the rewards from playing it are great if you put a little time in. Maybe I'll look at getting it back up and running tonight then and post details. I usually leave my media centre PC running 24/7 so people can come and go as they please.

Do, it's a really great game when you get going! It's fun with more people too. If you decide to give it another go, shout and I'll join you. I have a TS server so can talk you through the basics. (Rawns on steam in case you want to add me, I'm also in the Edugeek group) Also, Terraria came out 6 months before Minecraft!

I built a big castle once and set up a water pump with a 1 second switch on top of it and turned it on to make a waterfall. I then wondered off to explore some more and when I got back, half of the world was flooded!!! Luckily, I had a 'hellevator' so made a tunnel between it and the new 'water world' to drain most of it off. Hell got a bit wet that day!!! Edugeek server would be awesome. Saying that, I have ran a server on my media centre so could easily set one up.

On Windows 7, it can be found in: C:\ProgramData\Capita\SOLUS3\Deployments. Not 100% sure on XP but suspect it will be something like C:\Documents & Settings\All Users\Application Data\SOLUS3 maybe?
-
Terraria is an AWESOME game! And it's got a big PC update due out soon!!!
-
Sounds a lot to me like SOLUS3 performing evil tricks. Tis' a cruel mistress. We have auto deploy to agents on by default and it only pushes out the relavant packages to the number of devices we've specified before the actual scheduled upgrade time. 15/20 devices in bigger schools, 5 in primaries. Your thinking behind the way auto-deploy works is accurate, I'd be tempted to log a case with Capita and ask someone to check it out. I presume your using SOLUS3.5? Quality!
-
Hiya MrMat! Welcome to the land of geeks! Regarding your SOLUS3 issue, is this when a package has been recieved into your S3 repository, or when you actually deploy a upgrade?
-
[sims] SOLUS3: Another depolyment is currently in progress. Current status: idle
Rawns replied to tech-man's topic in MIS Systems
Cheers @tech-man, just experienced this at a site of ours and renaming the deployment folder did the job. -
Done it. Stopped the "Deployment Service" service for 5 minutes and it forced it to 'fail'. Redeploying now, hopefully it will mop up the outdated machines!
-
SOLUS3 has done it again. Got a large secondary with 200 devices listed in the SIMS Client channel. The SIMS Summer 2013 upgrade went out yesterday evening and installed against a third of their devices. The other devices all sit there online and the last message revived was "Successfully downloaded update". The upgrade task still shows as "In progress" which means I can't re-deploy to these devices as I don't have a successful/partially successful upgrade. If I push out the full SIMS Summer 2013 package, it just sits there with a status of scheduled. How can I force this existing deployment to change status to "failed" so I can re-deploy?
-
Sounds like a catch 22 situation. No money to upgrade your hardware, and the hardware you have won't run SIMS because it's out of date and running XP. Maybe having a sit down with the bursa/SLT and explaining the current situation and how things will goes down hill if hardware is not addressed will result is some funding being scraped together?
-
Ouch! Even with XP, running SIMS .net on a device with 512MB RAM must be a struggle! Capita recently update their Hardware spec guide. While it's a rough spec sheet designed to meet all needs in various school sizes, 2GB is now the minimum recommendation for SIMS use, with 4GB recommended. Add FMS, Discover etc to the mix and the recommendation goes up!

Think I first found out about Win XP support ending a year ago, maybe more? Since then we've tried to inform schools about it when we can. However as in most cases, there are always sites that 'miss' every piece of information about it, or there are schools that don't have a pro-active IT life cycle and are stuck due to lack of re-investment. From a LA support prospective, I'm sure we will see the occasional XP device after the cut off date. We will employ the usual 'best endeavours' stance, but at the end of the day, if it's broken due to XP, all we can say is upgrade and point out every pience of info we sent to schools over the past year to make them aware of this.

From what I remember, almost everyone hated JC1 when it was out and there was surprise when a sequel was announced. However, developers redeemed themselves with number 2 and it went down a storm.

My mate has BL2 and loves it. Think he's lvl 57 but rolled a new charto play it through with me. Up to level 6 at the moment. The sheer number of guns in the game is mental! @LosOjos - Your welcome to join if your getting it soon?
-
For those who purchased Just Cause 2, I highly recommend you keep a close eye on this: Just Cause 2 Multiplayer The community has built multi-player into it with 1000 man servers!!! It's beta at the moment and they host beta weekends where you can join the servers. Then during the week, they review, develop and build it further. I've had a few games on it and it's really good fun!

This is actually true, you will know what data is in your database and have a better understanding of it all. Capita spend a LOT of time building test data, it's not an easy job by any means.
-
Well, I had the original Borderlands and only spent a few hours on it and left it there, not because it wasn't good, but other games took hold and it got forgotten about. Borderlands 2 has a bit of a 'previously on Borderlands' intro which I assume covers most of it, but to me, it is a case of pick it up and off you go. Different characters too so it's not really a 'direct' squeal.
-
Picked up Borderlands 2 for £6.99 yesterday. Really loving it so far.
-
As Capita say, unfortunately the data is only available for LEA's and third part support agencies. Therefore I doubt anyone will be able provide you with a copy of the data directly off here. Could you not use a copy of your own database and load it into a VM for testing?

Blimey! The resemblance really is uncanny! Time to quiz the rents on if you really are an only child!
