My HTC Desire HD is starting to show it's age. It's coming up towards three years old now and out of all the phones I've owned, it's been the best by far. I'm looking to buy a new, unlocked phone for my giffgaff SIM card. While I'd like a Samsung Galaxy S4 or an HTC One, I'm not willing to spend £500+ outright on a new phone no matter how awesome and shiny. I've recently been pointed in the direction of the LG Nexus 4. It looks like a really affordable phone now the price has dropped to £159, and the spec is none too bad either. Rumour has it though is the price has dropped because the Nexus 5 is due out imminently with Android 5 on it, and the remaining Nexus 4 stock needs to be shifted. My question is, should I go for the 4, or wait for the 5? I'd be interested to know what kind of estimated price the Nexus 5 will go for new and what possible spec it may have? If it's priced with top end smart phones, I'll go for the Nexus 4, but if the spec is better and the price in a more affordable range, I'd be tempted with the 5. Is anyone aware of the suspected release date? Also, does anyone know if the Nexus 4 is easy to root?

Sorted after a bit more Googleing! Even though I (thought I) disabled UAC, I fixed it through the local security policy > local policies > security options and disabling "User Account Control: run all administrators in admin approval mode". Teamspeak and XBMC fire up on boot every time now.

Installed Win 8 on my media centre. So far, everything looks OK, however it took me a bit of Googleing to find the startup folder. I've created shortcuts to my Teamspeak 3 Server and XBMC apps to load them on boot, however they don't start up automatically after reboot. The startup list in task manager shows them listed and they are 'enabled'. I also tried turning off the fast boot option in the power settings (as suggested by another Google search) all to no effect. Any ideas why these two programs do not load on boot? Nothing in event viewer and I'm stumped!

Huuum, that could explain why it errored out when I tried. Oddly, the tools allow you to select both sims and discover to migrate. Anyway, why am I discussing it now?! I'm on holiday for 3 weeks!!!

It's not a case of one printer working, another not working. It's a case of one printer working for every single application apart from FMS! I've only know it to occur with network printers, not local printers. Usually as a work around (if changing the default printer does not work), we would add a "local" printer with a TCP port and use the printer IP address to install it. Exact same network printer but it shows on the workstation as a local printer. FMS suddenly is happy with it.

I think everyone at some point has owned a DG834 router! It's the Nokia 3310 of the router world!

Talking of F2P, I hear PS4 owners will be able to play Planetside 2. Unfortunately, no cross-platform functionality as apparently it's too had to patch both platforms at the sametime.

My router is starting to play up a bit which I think is partly due to the heat we've had, plus it's age. Anyway, I'm looking at replacing it soon. I currently have a Netgear DGN3500 DSL router with N range wireless and 4 X 1GB Ethernet ports. I'm ideally looking for a similar replacement (N range wireless and at least 4 x 1GB Ethernet ports). I don't mind having a single unit, or having a separate modem/switch and wireless AP. Any suggestions welcome.

It's cracking ain't it. Me and mates always try and stealth it but usually there is three of us. On occasions, a random drops in and just charges in or gets spotted. We were so close to doing the bank with stealth once but the random got impatient so just ran in and killed the civvies. Seriously annoying! If you can get on a 4 man team that are tight and use voice comms, like you say it's awesome! And if it goes belly up, you know you all tried hard and battle your way through. I've been a bit overkill on it over the past few weeks so moved to Planetside 2 for a break. I'll be all over it next week. Conveniently, tomorrow is my last day in work for three weeks! As always, if you fancy a game or need one/two/three more, me and my roughneck bunch of misfit mates are always happy to oblige.
