Cheers guys, yeah they are quite old. I can get the bricks from ebay for about £10 each to be honest I was trying to save money/environment incase somebody had some tucked away on a shelf.

I'm on the look out for a couple of 12V 4A power supplies (for 17" TFTs), I'm not really fussed whats on the DC end as I will prolly just put on the correct DC plug if required. Its for myself personally I will pay postage and maybe a small amount for the adaptors them selves. Will also consider swaps if you are after anything Help me Edugeek your my only hope!

Hm its difficult as it can be quite subjective, if you sit right in front of the screen you may notice more of a difference between 720p & 1080p. Some 1080p screens also have an internal conversion from 1080p > 1080i > 1080p eaning you loose some quality. I would sooner go with a decent 720p set over a budget 1080p set.
