Got a whole bunch of Sega Roms on my N95 as well as Monkey Island 1/2 and other games that use the scum engine. Also quake 1 running on the N95 is pretty impressive I must say, the lazy so and so hasent written in multiplayer support yet lol.

Was, was ? ? ? Ahh you mean you have upgraded to a A1200 right, probably playing Sensible world of soccer with a couple of Mega Drive gamepads plugged in right now. -
It depends there is a complex set of rules that will trigger a phone activation, depends on how long it was since it was first activated ect.

Which creative soundcards are they? some of the newer ones have a standard HD Audio connection on them meaning you could use the case front ports. Otherwise you would be looking at a different solution like extension cable or buying front bay ports that come out of the back of the machine and connect to the sound card.

LOL unfortunatly thats exactly what you do, then you have to call the activation line go through all the automated options until you get to speak to a human and explain you have an OEM Vista Business Licence and they will provide you and activation code. Quite an annoyance if you have multiple systems.

Ohh me thinks somebody only has 15.4" !

Usually only requires a vbios update and/or driver update. I think what Dan is driving at is you will end up paying a premium for a legacy 4:3 monitor, would you pay the premium or bite the bullet and adopt (with all the headaches it may bring)? At home I have a 20" widescreen 1680 x 1050 so its like having a 17" with extra width and I most certainly wouldn't go back, it also has 1:1 pixel mapping so I can run at 1280x1024 at 4:3.

Yeah think it took me about 6-8 hours with episode 1, welcome to episodic gaming 8O

You have nicely positioned those systems in order of power consumption, stating with the mobile on desktop solution then with the amd solution (btw 45W is the TDP of the cpu not the consumption of the whole system which would be around 100W) and then the standard desktop cpu Core 2 Duo. Generally the price will increase for the lower power solutions, the AMD cpu is about £15.00 premium over the standard version of the cpu X2 4000. The most expensive being the Mobile Pentium Dual Core or Core 2 Duo, these solutions require a mainboard witha mobile chipset and will command a £100 - £150 premium over a similar spec desktop cpu solution depending on the cpu. at SCL we have, and currently do evaluate mobile on desktop solutions but so far the current feedback tends to be along the lines of "Electricity does not come off our budget so why should we spend more on a lower power solution" & "If it came down to it we would use a completet thin client solution to minimize power consumption". We can provide both AMD low power desktop cpu and intel mobile on desktop cpu solutions but are rarely asked for them.

Only 2GB of ram? If you are thinking about Vista 64 then 4GB would be worth while as its so darn cheap at the moment.

Check out Small Biz Server, its based on Windows 2003 with wizards and integration with exchange isa etc. If I were you I would order a trial copy and install it, if you are familier with server 2003 youshould find yourself at home.

There is normally a screw that requires a half turn to lock the cpu into the socket do you know if you did this?

Athlough the drivers may not be available on the manufacturers site if you scout around you should be able to find the xp drivers for most hardware (its just a pain). Thye have extended XP availability to OEM's to June/July I believe.

All the new Maxtors are Seagate drives.

Either, I find a bootable flash drive with the dos flash utility and rom file to be best.

Hahah LOL no problem. Hi end chipsets don't tend to have integrated graphics. If you get the Platinum I strongly suggest updating to the latest BIOS once you have put it together, looking at the BIOS history they have been doing a huge amount of work squishing small bugs and adding performance enhancements.
-
Yes all the P35 boards are fine with the quad.
-
or the P35 Platinum which I'm looking to get next month myself P35 Platinum its about £35 more though I believe.

Get the G0 stepping slightly better temps + power consumption Q6600 G0 Also personally would get the Intel P35 chipset P35 Neo although the 650 SLI is also good and the IDE controller is native to the chipset unlike the Intel boards where the IDE is in the form of an additional controller. Also prefer MSI myself (mainly because I get priority BIOS support )

It might be worth just removing the hard drive and plugging it into another machine so that you can back up all thier data then put it back in the pc and do a clean install of XP Home.

I looked at the cables behind the PC and thought "Holy spaghetti cables batman!" Maybe just some cable ties would be a nice quick fix here. Are you able to stand the PCs on thier sides behind the monitor? -
I have SKY and not really had any problems, does seem to be a better deal than BT to be honest. I have heard they do tend to screw up the migrations sometimes (mine was ok) and not sure where the actual blame lands here.

What version of Vista is it retail or oem and 32 or 64 bit?
