Is it a projector if its not projecting? Have you cleaned the filters of late? As if it overheats its possible that it could blow a newish bulb?

Sorry to be a pain again, but on the same laptop its now finding the hdd, but it goes through all the usual stuff, but then has an error message when trying to resize the image. Please find the error message picture included. Anyone have an idea how i can get it to work on this cursed laptop? lol. Cheers

Thanks a lot mate, id thought id checked it but i haden't. I decided to do a more stringent check with it, and the hard drive setting was on ide. I changed it to ahci and its working great. Thanks a lo mate

hi, we have recently started using FOG to image our computers, and for the first few weeks we have had no issues. However with a batch of stone laptops we i am having a problem with whenever i try and pxeboot for imaging, memtest or hard drive scanning it pxeboots fine, finds the fog server, and then it just says hard drive not found. Has anyone got an idea why it would be doing this, as i don't want to have to go back to symantec ghost Cheers

What we did with our netbooks was use Nlite to make a custom XP install in which you can cut a load of the rubbish out. It works just fine and only use 100 MB of Ram to run. Would you consider doing that, as if you have the time to do it, it is really worth doing. nLite - Deployment Tool for the bootable Unattended Windows installation

Are you using Symantec Ghost? As what we ended up doing was setting up the ghost cast server on a laptop, with the images. Then taking the laptop down to the area where the ghost is happening, plug the laptop into the local switch and accepting clients, but not sending. As soon as all clients are accepted then disconnecting the switch from the network and pressing send. This is so all the computers get an IP from DHCP. It works really well, and it doesn't kill your bandwidth from everywhere esle either. Should stop your internet problem to

Would you consider using Nlite or Vlite to make a reduced version of either XP or Vista, a friend used it get an install below 200MB and restarts in 20 seconds xD

Can't offer much on the mac front im afraid, but for the p.c.'s If your running xp pro, unless you get the 64 bit edition, it can run a maximum of 4gb of ram including a graphics card, and for media your probably going to want a graphics card. So could i recommend two 1 GB sticks in slots and two 512 MB sticks in slots as you apparently get optimum performance from slots having the same ram, and then using a 512 MB graphics card? Id personally get the core two quad running at 2.4 GHZ. That would last for a while, and it could easily handle windows 7 if an upgrade was needed. If you can't save onto the network, then the hard drive plan is a good idea, as long as you map the my documents onto it off of the C drive. And i love 22inch screens but not a bit overkill Hope it helps

I just experienced this myself, and it turns out with sims fms, if you change the default printer it will stop working, until you change it back to what it was. Does that help you at all?

This looks near identical to the job description of our deputy network manager. I think some schools have a senior technician as opposed to a deputy network manager if that helps?

If this is the trend howcome i tend to see a fair few job descriptions asking for a computer science, or other computer subject, graduate, and say nothing about actual hands on experience?

This is just an out of interest question to network managers really, if you had a support job available who would you prefer, someone who has worked for 3 years in a support role, but is only vocationally qualified, or someone who has just graduated with a computer science degree. Me and a friend were discussing this the other day and couldn't decide. Cheers

Have you looked at the Dell Studios? You can get them with a 2.5 Intel Core 2 Duo, 3 GB RAM and 256 video card for a reasonable price. What i run at home xD

I've found that if you call before 12 you tend to get better service from dell then after. You also seems to get Americans after 12. Funny how things turn out

As silly as it sounds would it be possible just to restore it to factory default and then give it the same static IP address that it currently has again?

I have looked over the website, and everyone seems to recommend using Ruckus for access points. If i wanted to run 15-20 netbooks off of one, which one would i buy? Also can it be bought off of ebuyer, dabs etc or just off the Ruckus website? Cheers =)

We have a system in which only computers with a static IP in a certain range of 10 can access Youtube, and even then we rarely let anyone out of the IT office onto it.
